There was a performance I caught where the audience energy was SO in tune with what was happening on stage. I couldn't believe it! It wasn't a special performance, no understudies, nothing different. Just a regular performance.

It was the same moment mentioned earlier, when Diana (Marin M.) entered with her suitcase at the end, the entire audience GASPED. Then she sang the first words "So anyway I'm leaving..." and then in unison, the audience began to audibly cry/sob. When the show was over, the audience instantaneously stood to its feet, except for one girl I saw in the box seats. She was sobbing so hard that she could not stand. Her friend was trying to comfort her and get her to breath. I stayed in my seat until the audience cleared out because I wanted to make sure she was OK. An usher had to help her out. As they walked past me, I heard the friend say to the usher that her mom was bi-polar, too.

I've seen the show a lot more than once, but that particular night, the audience's reaction is what I will always remember.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I've seen the show many many times, in several different incarnations. But I think my favorite memory will always be seeing it for the very first time, back at NYMF, as Feeling Electric. I skipped class to go see it, and it was in this tiny theater in midtown; other than the Sherie/Norbert recording, I didn't really know what I was getting into. It was too long and very different and often somewhat messy, but seeing something at that stage and knowing it has promise is one of my favorite things about developmental productions. It was raw and beautiful and I knew it had to have a future. It's been exciting to watch this show grow into a huge success, and I'll always be proud to have known it way back when.

Saw the show three times, but the first time was so emotional for me. I love this show and am so happy it won the Pulitzer.

Saw the show three times and will be bidding it my own farewell on January 2nd. Very sad to see this one close.

For me, I was against the whole show when I heard the whole concept, but I saw it, and fell in love (this was April 2009). I was back within a month to see it again. This show truly touched me.

I think that my favorite moment in the show (even though it's one of the darkest points) is the I Dreamed A Dance/There's A World sequence because it is SO unexpected that she'd ever do something like that (both to the audience and to Dan) and just to watch Dan wring out the blood from the towel is just spine-tingling. ANOTHER favorite moment was when Alice Ripley PERSONALLY emailed my friend, and invited herself to their house when she comes back to D.C. for the Kennedy Center engagement. SO EXCITED!!

Oh goodness. Great thread!

My first time seeing it was amazing. I was in the third row orchestra, center stage and was just memorized the entire time. My friend who I saw it with, who has bipolar, was sobbing hysterically during "You Don't Know/I Am the One" and I just squeezed her hand during it, letting her know everything was ok. It was a very special moment.

Then Alice's last night.. Holy crap. Talk about a fantastic evening. It was honestly one of the best nights of my life. I actually recently found a bootleg of the show from that night and I've watched it about three times. Love reliving it. Such an amazing night of theater.

I've seen it 5 times. My 6th time will be on it's closing. It's so sad to say goodbye to it.

Alice locking eyes with me at one point during the show.

Bobby's "I've Been."

Aaron's "I'm Alive."

Adam. Just everything about his performance.

The look on Marin's face between "Didn't I See This Movie" and "A Light in the Dark," and at the end of Act 1.

Marin and Jason's "A Light in the Dark."

"Light." Every time.

I know I should think of the moments where I was particularly touched. (I'm not gonna lie and say I wasn't, I totally adored this show.) But everything I can think of is really goofy. Like the sheer awfulness of Open Your Eyes at Second Stage, or the time I saw it on Broadway and Alice's shoe flew off and beaned the girl right next to me straight in the glasses.

When the top of the medication bottle fell from the 2nd level onto the 1st and Alice watches it fall and eyes it as it rolls off the stage. That was classic!

The last time I saw the saw during the sandwich making scene, Marin flung a piece of cheese right at me and I wanted to take it home, but it was real cheese and it stunk. lol

This has to be my favorite show and I am so thrilled such a daring and different show has been such a success.

I saw the show for the first time early in previews and I had no idea what it was about or how much I would grow to love it. I was completely blown away and sobbed for most of the show, and I gasped at all of the right points. I've gone back so many times and I continue to experience the show in new ways every time I see it.

Some standout shows or moments:
- Alice, Brian and Jenn's last show. It was such an unbelievable night of theatre, and it's something I'll really never forget.
-I was at the show the day the Tony nominations were announced and the energy was unreal.
-Sharing the show with my parents and both of them crying and loving it.
-Watching Meghann for the first time, and really believing that Natalie was afraid she was going to be crazy just like Diana. I cried for the first time ever at the point of the show, and it was the first time I really understood or cared for Natalie.
-Watching the entire mezzanine lean forward when Diana makes sandwiches on the floor. It always just cracks me up to watch them all move as one unit.
-Hearing people gasp and be shocked at all of the right points during the show. For the first few times, even when I knew what was going to happen, I was so invested that I would find myself being surprised.

I'm in total denial that this show will be gone in a few weeks. But I'm grateful for the many, many memories it's given me.

It was a surprising pleasure. When I first heard about it, I thought, "Oh yeah, *this* sounds like great Broadway material!" -- but like everyone else here, I was enchanted by it.

But my favourite memory of this show? The all-Twitter version they put up to sell the show. That takes serious cajones.

Marin's "You Don't Know". I've cried several times in my life, but I had never had tears literally squirt from my eyes before that moment.

Only got to see it once, so my memory is basically all of it. So moving. Last row Orch seats from TKTS, then I moved up to an empty in the 7th row at intermission.

I remember bawling my eyes out in Act 2. The last 3 numbers in rapid succession. And since I'd moved, it was all right in my face. I started crying and then just when I'd get myself under control, something would set me off again. The feeling inside my chest when they hit the last note of the show...it's indescribable...it's a feeling I'd never felt before and haven't since.

I met the cast outside and told them how much the show moved me and meant to me (the show is SUPER relevant to my family's history...mental illness, death, grief, substance abuse) and Alice Ripley stopped to talk to me and she looked at me and I felt like she was staring into my soul.

I also remember being totally floored by Jenn's voice, and being in awe of Aaron's athleticism as he ran up and down all those stairs.

In all of the 4 times I saw it, starting at Maybe I realize that the finale is coming up and it makes me so sad to know that the show is going to come to an end. And now that the show is closing I have the that feeling I feel when the finale comes up.

Having my Mom cry when I finally got her to see it. My Mom only watches the "tourist shows" and was hesitant to watch when she finally did at the end when the cast walked off stage she gave me a hug and told me I was right.

It will always be my favorite Broadway show.

For those who thought NEXT TO NORMAL wouldn't have a life outside Broadway, well it's now playing in 4 cities, 9 different countries and has been translated into 6 languages.

"Have you talked of your depression, your delusions and your son?". That would be THE moment for me, that last note. I gasped, Jessica Phillips started singing and I couldn't stop crying until the show was over.

I didn't thought a show could touch me like this one did. I was impressed at what those 6 actors could achieve. The energy at the end of the show was amazing.

I'm gonna miss Louis Hobson and Adam Chanler-Berat the most. Yeah Gabe (Kyle) was cute shirtless, but the Doctor scenes were ALWAYS fun. Both the Doctor and Henry were just totally my type. :P

Seriously though, I really enjoyed Marin's vocal performances and the way she really made Diana so disturbed. Alice will always be the real Diana for me. I saw Alice place Diana 2x and I cried so much both times.

1 more thing: the point where the dad talks to Gabe at the end gets me every time; I cry like a baby.

I'll be there for closing night! Coming all the way from Louisiana. But hey, I always said if I could do it, I would!

Also, the very first time I saw the show, knowing absolutely nothing about it...and hearing the reveal about Gabe. And the moment when it's revealed that Dan can now (or always could, depending on your interpretation) see Gabe. Those were two moments that hit me hard and made me realize that this really wasn't your 'typical' show for me.

I ventured over to NY from my home land in Britain for the first time in September, I had booked 17 shows in 13 days, N2N was the 2nd show I saw, I sat there and was completely blown-away! The defining moment in the show for me (besides the birthday cake moment, which completely set the show up!) was when Dan sings his little bit in "How could I ever forget" It's really the first time the character showed emotion, and the wait just made me burst into tears as soon as he sang the words "I was a child, raising a child." I still vividly remember it now!

I found the show so moving, I ditched two of the other tickets I had booked for that week and saw the show twice more!
Each time as memorable as the first!

A fantastic show and was very upset to hear of it's closing!!

I just hope the producers bring this show to London!!!!
