I can not wait to see this.
C’mon, LCT. Give us a little casting announcement as a treat.
Never caught this last fall… is this how the Encores production began, with Josh H walking up to the onstage baby grand piano and playing the opening refrain?
I always knew him as a guitarist in his spare time.
Joshua Henry plays many instruments. I can't wait for him to perform this and win all the awards. Love.

I thought it was the young kid who played but it did open with a piano on stage.

Has anyone heard any rumors about the cast? I heard it'll be a largely new cast but curious who it may be.

Heard the exact opposite and that the entire principal cast from City Center was seen filming a promo/taking photos at Lincoln Center.

Yup they’re announcing it tomorrow. I’ve heard everyone from the City Center production will be attached. It will be playing the Vivian Beaumont for a very limited run. According to people familiar with the production the first preview is expected be September 25th with an October 16th opening night and as of right now, the production is expected to run through January 4th!

I just hope it’s not forgotten next May/June when the Tonys come around. Josh Henry needs a Tony for this.

So Caissie Levy is still in for Mother? :/
Tom Kirdahy, Kevin Ryan, and Robert Greenblatt are now all attached as commercial producers.
First preview has been pushed back by a day to September 26.
Henry, Uranowitz, and Levy are all continuing.

And already penciling in Henry and Uranowitz for Tony’s next year. The standouts of the City Center version.
Looking forward to seeing a full staging compared to Encores as well.
Nevermind. The announcement came while I was typing
I somehow doubt we will have a fully staged production. I can just imagine the orchestra upstage and the actors playing downstage in the thrust. I hope I'm wrong, but I just have that feeling.
I didn't catch this at Encores, but I'm always happy to hear this score performed live and therefore looking forward to this.
Incredible, cannot wait!

DeBessonet said the Lincoln Center Theater production would be large-scale, with 33 onstage actors and a 28-piece orchestra, and a physical production that will be more elaborate than that at City Center, where the stage is less deep and the run was shorter. “We’re not translating to a naturalistic set, trying to depict every location in the show,” she said, “but the staging and the design have to evolve to meet the space.”
I'll definitely be there that first weekend of previews. Curious to see a full cast press release.
LCT needs a win considering the responses to their last several musicals and this certainly seems extremely promising. As long as DeBossenet can not only translate but upscale the production from City Center to the Beaumont successfully, it seems like it'd be a sure bet.
Engrave Henry’s Tony now. He deserves it.

The rich and full cast recording that will inevitably come from this is what I’m most excited for. I love the voices on the OBC, but the mixing put the vocals in the back. I was listening to Joshua Henry’s performance in Carousel yesterday and it was a dream.
