This show will be lucky to get mixed reviews. Nothing is saving this show.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
They also have plenty of tickets available for opening night, too. That's never a good sign.

Clear as it is that so many on this board are praying for TAMMY FAYE to fail spectacularly, in all fairness, the box office figures for MAYBE HAPPY ENDING, SWEPT AWAY and WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD, also in previews, aren't exactly setting the world on fire either and they are playing smaller theatres than The Palace.

You've just discovered that a season can have multiple flops.

You know what a smaller theatre means? Smaller rent...
I don't think people were praying for anything, they're just observing it failing...
This will limp along for a month or two after opening, close in January, and have the theater empty for another show to open this season (maybe Ragtime, maybe not). Elton’s pockets may be deep, but there’s only so much he can do to bail out a rapidly sinking ship. Their advance - even by today’s standards of last-minute ticket buying - is shockingly bad. The mezzanine for tonight’s show is only about 20% filled, let alone the coming days.

Agreed -- the last musical that comes close to that definition was Glory Days, which opened and closed on opening night in 2008. And the last true production that "closed before opening night" was the play Bobbi Boland in 2003. In this age of pretty meticulous budgeting and funding of Broadway productions, not to mention the pockets of Elton John, I highly doubt any production doesn't have the necessary funds to complete its preview period and open. Even if the producers believe it doesn't have the creative acclaim, I strongly doubt they'll pull the plug before opening.

To be fair, he also Devil Wears Prada which may be the priority to him -- and another show that may need his $$$ more
Hi everyone. Saw a preview last night. What a disappointment. It is a show so confused in tone, so unclear in its intent, so overblown and yet totally lacking in every way. The Brits do love to skewer America, and usually shower accolades on themselves when this happens...anyone remember the play "Enron" a few seasons back. A huge hit in London. A total failure in New York. It is sad to see any show fail this miserably, considering how many people will soon be out of work. This is a case of Brits missing the boat entirely on how to tell an American story to Americans. The lyricist is the only American on the creative team. The less said about the music and lyrics, the better. Not to kick a dead horse, but this has to be Elton John's worst score since Lestat. A wonderful lead performance is not enough to save this.

It's idiotic. Same situation as American Psycho (though that show was far far superior). American Psycho would have done great in the West End, this one however, I don't even think it would catch on.
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Yeah I just got that email 1500 points and $66. Never seen that.
