I just wanted to give a special shout out to all the swings and understudies, they are the stars of this very strange and crazy Broadway season! Congratulations!
I’m attending tonight and I’m so excited I could cry. It’s been on my bucketlist for years and I get to experience it with one of my best friends. So happy that we’re getting an actual, full production this year.
Also fun story - yesterday I was getting my manicure in Hell’s Kitchen and right as my nails are drying, Andrea and Kiersten of Six were both paying. I Told them both good luck tonight and was semi-star struck.
Sitting at my desk and filling out my silly prediction ballot. Wow. What a year of incredible theatre. I got caught up in the awards talk of the last month, but to sit at the ballot and to look at the names and think "I loved each of these for so many reasons." That makes me smile. This season was so rich. Tonight is gonna be one of the best Tonys ever. I can feel it. Each show is fantastic in its own way. And unlike so many years where there is maybe a handful of good shows, this season is filled with so many great ones. So grateful to live in New York, to have seen all these shows, to take part in the conversation around tonight, and to be watching tonight! Happy Tonys, everyone!
Do we have any details of what is actually airing on Paramount+ for the first hour? So far, not really feeling a fourth hour unless there's something exceptional happening...

The broadcast show will be preceded by a one-hour segment, hosted by Darren Criss and Julianne Hough, that will begin at 7 p.m. Eastern time and be viewable only on Paramount+. That hour is expected to include the announcement of many of the design and writing awards, as well as some performances.

Per Adam Feldman, the Paramount+ hour will include all eight design awards plus the awards for score, orchestrations, and choreography, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award for Angela Lansbury.

Lifetime Achievement Award for Angela Lansbury - This should be during the main broadcast. Disappointing decision that this honor is not happening then!

There are numerous places online that’ll let you stream the CBS telecast. A simple Google will bring up a handful. Test one out and see if it works for you. Paramount Plus’ “live” stream is subscription based in the U.S. so you won’t find a place streaming it aside from Paramount Plus.
