So after my issues seemed to go away, another popped up. BWW started freezing up and causing me not to be able to switch tabs. It still would not let me turn my ad blocker off. I was also getting ads on the right side of my screen blocking comment content. So this morning I decided to see what would happen if I removed my ad blocker and sure enough, that was it. So now if I want to come to this site on my Chromebook I can't have an ad blocker, which I use for other sites and have no problem with. Why won't BWW allow an ad-blocker just to be turned off? It worked before.

I use an ad blocker and it's a pain when I come on this site. Everything now on BWW has become annoying from these quirks, how they run the site and general tone of comments from so many people is negative.

I made the ultimate mistake of clicking on the video today of Cush Jumbo and David Tennant advertising the upcoming release of their Macbeth in cinemas. This was a 6:55 video that I thought I would enjoy but it was literally interrupted FIFTEEN, yes 15!!!! times in 7 minutes with ads.  Broadwayworld - if you really expect anyone to watch these videos, please stop the madness with the ads.

The pop-up videos on this site, especially the mobile version, are the most annoying feature. Constantly having to X out the video with every page refresh is frustrating.

Yes, the constant ads during the videos are annoying. I just don't watch them anymore.

Also, on my Chromebook, when I go to the off-topic board and click on a thread title, it doesn't open the thread. Just takes me back to the main Broadway Forum. I have to try two or three times to possibly get a thread to open.

Also the ads that now appear right inside the comment boxes are really annoying. That video that runs on the right side of the screen sometimes covers content.

I have a Pixel phone and for some reason I now always have to sign in to BWW if I want to comment. My login used to be saved.

It looks like today's grosses thread isn't available to view or comment on. Clicking on the link just returns to the main thread list, and I can see that there aren't any comments on it yet.

So it continues...on my Chromebook I started getting a "Performance issue alert" pop up. It says "This tab is using extra resources. To improve your performance, let Chrome make it inactive " Underneath that there is the BWW logo with Broadway Message Board & Forum next to it. Under that, two buttons. One to "dismiss" and one to "Fix now". When this pops up it literally stalls my home wifi. This is ridiculous.

On my iPhone 12 Pro, I can not log in using the app. When I click on the upper right corner hamburger menu, I can see 9 different page selections, each on a red background i.e. news, chat, jobs, etc. But underneath "stage mag" there are two more selections: "Register" and "Sign in". I can see these only briefly, as they are covered by the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. No matter what I do I can't find a way to access the sign in link at the very bottom of that list of options. (I'm posting this message on my computer using the website, where I can log in.)

Now having more problems on my Chromebook with this site. Yesterday I started getting an Xfinity page and pop-up whenever I clicked on a new or thread link here telling me I was chosen for some promotion thing. (I use Xfinity wifi). Today I have clicked on a thread and news link and a page pops up that says "This site does not have a secure connection". Is there a problem with BWW on Chromebooks?

Update: This evening it appears Rob started a thread on the off-topic board. When I click to open it on my phone and Chromebook, it just takes me to the Broadway board.

My profile photo is now askew and I cannot find any place to update it.  I noticed that other photos are askew as well. I did not make any changes. Did a recent upgrade or change from BWW cause this? Any suggestions for a fix?

False. That simply takes you to the profile page where the profile picture already is. Everyone's picture is distorted, out of focus, and enormous.

The problem, as always, is BWW. The problems here are ridiculous and simple fixes. I'm sure this will be deleted because you guys can't really handle criticism, but it still doesn't make what Im saying incorrect.

100% agreed -- and while I understand it's similar to Whack-A-Mole, it's not too hard to have someone take a glance at the main feed every few hours and check. Heck, as of this writing, there's still a spam thread from 8:01AM today!

I get that ads pay for this site to stay afloat, but they've been multiplying lately. even popping up in the middle of a post. it's worse when viewing this site on a mobile device.

Is anyone else having an issue when clicking on chat nothing happens? Actually all the choices in red News, Show, Industry..... nothing happens.

If I click on one of the articles on the main page and bring that up I can then click on chat and it opens. Started happening yesterday. At first I thought the sit was down.

Since my post from those threads got deleted along with the thread, I'll just post it here.

I just LOVEEEEEE how BWW makes it so much easier for Spam Bots to make accounts when they have no security features on sign up and even autogenerate a username if you don't one. Really great user experience and I'm so impressed that in all the LITERAL years that its been going on that nothing has changed. I'm on other message boards and this is not nearly as big a problem. This is not a problem that has to exist, it's one that is ALLOWED to exist.

BWW is constantly opening its users to scams and computer viruses for which they should be ashamed. You cater to an older user base here so you should be extra cautious with this stuff, but alas...

Don't know if it's just me but I'm not a big fan of having the extra email opt in when I want to subscribe to a thread.  I can handle it if it's something that's not likely to change, but if this was done more as a test feature I'd prefer the old way where clicking the button just subscribed you.

On 8/31/25 I posted a message on the thread Audience Rewards ticket locations about the Buena Vista Social Club. When I look at the home page for the message board I see that post listed as the most recent: 8/31/25 9:59am TarHeelAlan .

However, when I go to the messages for that topic, where my post should be #150, it's not there. I've seen this happen before, where it looks like there are enough posts on a page that the next post should start a new page, but it doesn't, and the post is then in limbo. Is this a known bug?
