"Everything feels so off tonight."

Yup. Nothing is landing.

And Catherine's performance was much more nuanced and delicately sung when I saw her in February. I thought she was lovely. Here, she was frightening. Maybe she felt the need to fill Radio City? Or if this is what her performance has become - robot-like and hammy - then she definitely isn't winning tonight.

I bought the Tony Awards Playbill for my first time this year. Has anyone bought one before, and have they always been BOOK like instead of MAGAZINE like?

I read on the sign outside A Little Night Music today that CZJ is "inspired." Well, I saw her in the show last week and I'm hoping that she's inspired to take an acting class.

"THAT was one of the most bizarre interpretations of "Send In The Clowns" I've ever seen."

That she was there all by herself made it more bizarre given all the head movements.

So far, MEMPHIS is the only performance worth noting.

That is NOT how she performs the song in the theater. I think the absence of Hanson and the truncation of the song threw her off. She seemed nervous. I knew that would be the wrong choice. Should have been Glamorous Life.

Well it's half-time, and so far I'd have to say that, save for Sean Hayes, this has to be one of the worst Tony's in recent memory - maybe ever.

What the **** was that performance?

I think she's just lack of experiences in performing in big venues with only herself. I agree that they should have Hanson with her if they know this is the problem in rehearsal, and she also should know herself too.

I enjoyed 1985 and 1999's telecast more than this, an that's saying something.

Her winning best actress in a musical has nothing to do with that performance. It is her performance in the actually show she would win for. Some tough critics up in here tonight.

I'm thinking that after Jones' performance, Bernadette just realized there is basically no act for her to follow. Here's to Peters/Stritch.

Christiane Noll had the absolute best performance of the evening, it's such a shame it was so short!

Ok, for bad, cliché musical theater acting, that song from RAGTIME is classic. I'm sorry, but all that posing and blocking you learn not to do in ACTING 101.

Chillin' and teachin' acting and voice to muh Bway/Film peeps... (Betty Buckley is teaching a workshop for me at my school, check it out.)
