The seats for Hadestown are really scattered throughout, some better than others..."
I have a running theory that TDF tickets are printed and then distributed alphabetically. My last name is at the very end of the alphabet and my seats are consistently farther back than other TDF locations reported on this board
I think someone confirmed that this is the case. At about 6pm the day of the show, TDF sends the box office a list, and they just fill them in alphabetically.

This is not always the case. Sometimes shows have a pile of tickets for TDF members as well.
Also, one time a friend and I ended up at The Ferryman on the same night - I am M (got fourth or fifth row mezz) and he is R and he got an orchestra seat. Another friend saw The Prom the same night as me, he got row G center orchestra (also an R last name) and I got row P extreme side orchestra.
Am I behind the beat? $49 top on some musical offerings? Band’s Visit, Cher, King King, Beautiful, etc., for instance. Not all musical offerings. I seem to remember $47.50 top but, then again, I haven’t ordered lately. Plays seem to remain at $43 top. Just curious.
And when are they going to fix the glitch that’s preventing you from keeping your place when you go from View back to Continue Shopping? Back arrow sometimes takes you back to where you were, but not always.

The way the tickets are pulled is up to each individual box office. TDF sends the box office a will call list, and it is indeed in alphabetical order. If the box office staff member pulling the tickets feels like making everything fair, they could start at the end of the alphabet or go in a random order. However, it is easiest to just go down the list (especially if they are running behind and need to pull the tickets quickly). There are a whole slew of factors that could affect where you are placed, especially number of seats you purchased (if you only got a single and there happens to be an empty single 5th row center, it could be your lucky day. Or maybe the only singles are in the side mezz).
It's interesting some people report stacks at the window for TDF, which is usually uncommon (papering lists on the other hand often are done via stacks of tickets), and this likely means the box office was pulling TDF at the last minute and didnt have time to assign names before curtain.
Last night, 4 tickets to The Cher Show. Front Mezz Center seats F 101-104. Great seats...aside from the disrespectful people in front of us. 2/5 came late. 3/5 were on their phones - the usher came over 3 times with her flashlight. Constantly dancing, talking, etc. The best was before the show started, the most annoying one in the group said "I'm usually front row center! These are so far away! The things I give up for you guys!" (her friends). UGH.
Just saw them! For some reason when I looked earlier I did not see anything, hopefully I did not mislead others. Grabbed a seat for My Fair Lady as my first TDF purchase!!
