Any clue on the cast besides Sara? I'd assume it will be made up of former cast members from the Broadway production and the 1st national tour. Performances start one month from today!

The official Instagram page was teasing a future casting announcement... I'd imagine it will happen tomorrow.

Very interesting that a lot of the returning cast members announced today also have near-future projects: Charity Dawson has Doubtfire, Caitlin Houlahan has Girl From the North Country, Dakin Matthews has To Kill a Mockingbird, Max Kumangai has Jagged Little Pill, and Chris Fitzgerald has Company.

Very exciting cast! I've seen most of them in the show and they all give a great performance.

Interesting to see 3 Jenna covers. Emily Koch, Molly Jobe, and of course Stephanie Torns!

Didn't even realize! Duh! I saw him in COMPANY right before the shutdown. He's awesome! I'm sure he can't juggle both for a bit.

They’re smart to get a cast of folks who have done the show before, and for a lengthy period of time. Meaning less Waitress rehearsal and more time for them to rehearse for their respective shows that will be opening around the time Sara is scheduled to depart - likely with a turnover of an almost entirely new cast.

No one super interesting but makes sense to use vets of the show. Be more curious when they get into replacements.

This is definitely the cast for the Bareilles filming. Expect half the cast to be replaced in October. And let's just bump up Torns to Jenna for the rest of the run.

Ah, makes sense this is who they want to film, but I was excited to see new blood get a crack at this. Looks like that will happen in October, though seems like alot of work/money to sub in a whole new cast six weeks in for a three month run.

If the plan is to keep it a limited run I can see Stephanie taking over until the end of the run or Desi since she’s proven herself invaluable to the Waitress team. Both deserve the chance to lead a Broadway show.

Jessie would make me return in a second. I saw Stephanie go on for her, and she was great, but I was undeniably disappointed to have missed Jessie after that Tony performance. I also missed Kimiko and would be thrilled to see her. And would see Gavin in anything.

I actually wonder if Stephanie will begin taking over the end of the engagement as well! I was wondering since Desi has often performed so often as Roxie in Chicago, I wonder if she will eventually return as Roxie? (Depending on how long Emma Pittman is there) Imagine if Katherine McPhee were to return as Jenna?

Yes to all of this!! Stephanie is definitely amazing but I'd love to see Jessie perform in person as well. I missed Gavin Creel in She Loves Me and I hope (one day?) Broadway can revive this one as well. I feel like there is a chance* Jessie could return because The Minutes isn't opening until March/April.
