Man, I’m missing Bareilles by a week and a half! Was definitely going to try and catch this with her, but I’ll wait for further casting news before I commit. Great news, though!
Wonder who'll they'll bring in after Bareilles? Can Stephanie Torns return as the Jenna u/s?
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Kimiko Glenn said this week on the Little Known Facts podcast that she tried to come back to close out the original run, but it couldn't be worked out contractually. I wonder if she's in the cards at all...
WOW this site BARELY worked for me...in the process of trying to snag a single ticket for the first night, it seems it sold out right right in the middle of my trying to find a seat, so had to switch nights and ended up getting one for the 3rd. And since when is Telecharge only emailing tickets two weeks out instead...they didn't really make this part clear, I chose that (it was the only option...) as to seemingly avoid the 3$ handling fee, but still got charged in the end. I love this show and only because it might be my last chance to see it (or any show) for a while, I had to just buck up and deal that good ol' unfettered American capitalism is still alive and well.
EDIT- Ok seriously, something has got to give with ticket buying online...it locked me out and said to come back later when I tried the 2nd at first, went back just now and lo...no virtual waiting room, no queue, and some sets are still available that day...
Wow! So excited I saw the announcement when I woke up this morning. I’ll be taking my mom to NYC for her first time to the city September 9-12. We had tickets to Hadestown on September 10 and I was holding out hope that another show would announce an early return while there. Snagged 2 Center Orchestra seats row L on the Aisle for 9/11. We’ll be staying at my favorite hotel The Roxy TriBeCa and I’m so excited to have my mom experience her first Broadway Show(s)!

Side note: Super excited for this show - probably one of my favorite new score of the past decade. But I've heard from multiple people that crime in Midtown especially has gone up? Is that 'fake news' or is it true? And do we think it will be quelled by Aug/Sept with shows reopening?
Just be aware of your surroundings, that's really it.
How exciting for Waitress fans! I saw it with Jesse so I'm good but I heard Sara was perfect, I hope they bring back Christopher Fitzgerald as Ogie because he was such a crowd favorite.
I got up a little earlier than normal and was on Telecharge just before 9 and snagged a front rear mezzanine ticket for the first night. I'm holding off on booking a ticket for the latter half of the run as I'm waiting to see who Sara's replacement will be. Waitress was my last show of 2020 and closing was my first show of 2021 and it feels appropriate to have it be my first show back post shutdown.
Sara is such a wonderful Jenna and I hope Gavin comes back with her as Pomatter. If Gavin starts the run with Sara and leaves with her in mid October, I hope that his replacement will be a man of color since the previous Broadway run never had a man of color as Pomatter.
I'd also love to see Marisha Wallace return to Broadway and play the role of Becky on Broadway after originating the role on the West End.
I'm so excited that the show will be back on Broadway for a bit and excited to make a few trips to the diner before January 2022.

I hope they cast a man of color right from the jump. Joshua Henry and Brandon Victor Dixon would both be perfection.
I didn't really like Waitress when I saw it in 2019, but I know this show has a passionate fan base and so I'm happy more people will get to see this. I'll probably give it another shot when the Bareilles proshot is inevitably released.
I hope they dedicate that first performance back to Nick Cordero.
