The Birds?
I actually thought "Pay it Forward" would make a good musical.
however, i really don't think thereare many movies that would translate well to musical.
vice versa is another story.
"Ever After"....that'd be orgasmic. :)

-FIGHT CLUB
-ROOTS
-CLOCKWORK ORANGE (I know it's been done, but it was way off-broadway)

Sondheim at one time considered Dennis Potters movie DREAMCHILD. I wish Adam Guettel would do it. "
Do you have any info about Sondheim's consideration.
I just finished a musical adaptation, and am in the prelimiary stages of rights.

1997 Anastasia (the animated film with Bernadette)
I think that would be absolutely fabulous especially if they added a couple more numbers.
It has the same type of things as most musicals, a belt number, ensemble numbers, and a woman and man's ballad.
It is lacking a brokenhearted ballad for Dimitri and a duet for DImitri and Anastasia when Anastasia choses him over royalty and also an amazing finale. I think giving Bartok a hilariuos number wouldnt be to much to ask either.... :)
Opinions?!

I agree with TiffanyB. Anastasia would be great!

Anastasia would be fantabulous
Ever After
Breakfast at Tiffany's could have been great if they hadn't butchered it the first time
Silence of the Lambs - The Opera
haha that's awesome!
I'd love to see either The Nightmare Before Christmas or Corpse Bride re-imagined as a stage show. Corpse Bride would probably be easier, but TNBC would be awesome visually(I imagine someone like Julie Taymor would have a field day with that one).

-Friday The 13th(Make it a comedy...Like what they did with Evil Dead)

Pleasantville would be my absolute dream project, whether writing/composing it or directing. I think it could be a phenomenal show for make-up and costumes, with the black-and-white to color plotline. Plus, I just love the characters and storyline anyway.
I think "Amelie" would be fabulous with Kerry Butler as the title role.

I still can't believe we don't have a Moonstruck musical.
I, Tonya with a rock score could be fantastic.
FWIW, there is 'Tonya and Nancy: The Rock Opera', though I don't know much about it. A cast album was recently released.
