Considering hundreds of RNs at my workplace got the vaccine and no one died, and that in my circle of acquaintances no one died, and the fact that there is no such thing as 'turbo cancer", I thin Mr. Levi can look for another line of work.

What is it about people like this that makes them think that their delusions are worthy of even a moment's consideration? The guy is an actor with an opinion. That's all. For him to join a roster of narcissists that includes Kid Rock, Hulk Hogan, Ted Nugent, Curt Schilling, Chad Kimball, RFK, Jr., Aaron Rogers and Laura Osnes is only notable in that he is irrelevant even among that crowd. No tragedy is so great that it cannot be exploited to support their political agenda. When DaMar Hamlin's heart stopped beating on a football field in Cincinnati, other people prayed while RFK, Jr. immediately jumped on social media and blamed it on the COVID vaccine to try to work the situation to his political advantage. When Tim Wakefield and and his wife asked for privacy as they both battled cancer, Curt Schilling ignored those wishes and broadcast it for the whole world to hear, so he could prop up his Christian bona fides to his listeners. Make no mistake about it: Zachary Levi's exploitation of Gavin Creel's death had nothing to do with compassion for Creel's family, or even legitimate discussion about vaccines. It was all about Levi's need to draw attention to himself and his need to establish a legitimacy that he has not earned. Narcissism with a capital N.

I left the movie theater halfway through the dreadful Shazam 2 and was nearly killed by a runaway cab while crossing the street just outside. By Levi's logic, if I had been killed my death would be attributable to him, right?

Even if Levi believes this...which is sheer abject stupidity...it's deplorable to even put this out there. It's just cruel-- cruel to his family, cruel to his fans, cruel to everyone who loved Gavin.
Just because one has an opinion, doesn't mean that it should be put into the ether.

Completely inappropriate. Let the man RIP.
Sad how heavily politicized this vaccine became. Even when it was being developed under the previous administration, it was being mocked and disregarded by those on the opposite side of the aisle. Even the leading figures of the latter said they didn't trust it and were hesitant to get it. And I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people didn't get it because of that too.
But interestingly after the election, suddenly it was perfectly fine, and discussions even ensued about possibly making it mandatory.
I agree though. Totally uncalled for for this guy to make such a comment. He has a right to his opinion, but tying it into someone's passing of which he knows nothing is not right.

I wouldn't say that's true. There were and continue to be a TON of right-wing attacks on and resentment to vaccines. Levi's nonsense is just one example of it.

Your recollection and perception of the time when the vaccine was being developed leaves out a lot of relevant facts. Primarily, the fear was that under Trump, science would take a back seat to commerce and whatever we got would be a result someone lining the pockets of the Trump family. It was not a lack of faith in science. It was a lack of faith in Trump's management of the process.
The skepticism of the vaccine came from the same crowd that refused to wear masks or practice social distancing. The same folks who questioned whether COVID was really a thing, whether hospitals were really overwhelmed, and insisted on calling it the China Flu. And these were not the folks "on the other side of the aisle". Honestly I've given up on trying to figure out what makes people like Zachary Levi and the rest of them tick. It's easy enough to dismiss them as kooks, but when they dominate social media and enable other kooks, it's a problem the rest of us have to deal with. And part of dealing with it is to call out the morons and opportunists like Levi who exploit any tragedy to promote their own nonsense.

So, please tell us was the fear justified? Did science take back seat to commerce? Did somebody line the pockets of the Trump family. How did Trump manage the process?

That was a completely irrational and misguided fear. Donald Trump was not in the lab developing the vaccine, and was in no position to profit off the vaccine in any way. Anyone who was actually afraid of that has absolutely no understanding of who was calling the shots, with regards to vaccine development (and, frankly, little understanding of how the government works).
Trump had no role in the vaccine development process. Literally all he did was yell about it on Twitter.

I dont think anyone here is suggesting stripping the right to vote away from anybody (making it impossible or harder for people to vote is Republican policy, though, if you are at all worked up over that).
It is "a shame" that ignorant people vote, just as its a shame that hateful bigots vote (and if you are a MAGA enthusiast, its a shame that educated women and people of color vote, etc.). That isnt advocacy to STOP them from voting and I suspect you know that.

However, I despise revisionist history, and have to defend Levi's performance in She Loves Me. He was an absolute delight in the role, sorry. Far, far from the weakest link in a cast where the actual weakest link (with all respect to the dead) was still pretty good.
