having just gotten home from a hell night rehearsal that ended at about 11 (i know, early, the director was basically saying we sucked and being here all night wouldn't make us better hahaha!), i'm curious what's the latest the absolute worst that one of the nights of hell week has gone for you guys who do regional/community theater?
for me, i think the latest we ever ended was about 1 AM.....and i've been doing community theater for a while!!...but no matter what, you want to kill yourself hell week haha

2AM, and it was just a damn high school production. And I had a first hour American History class at 6:55 the next morning.

We're usually on schedule. Last week, we all got off at 10 PM, with some nights running until about 10:30. Our director is cool that way.
We had a Les Miz Highschool practice go till midnight.
I was in Peter Pan and it was a childrens theater class. Ages 8-16. They kept us til 2 am. A lot of parents took their kids home around 11-12. And we did Act II first so that wasn't over til 12:30. So only 2 real kids were in Act I, Michael and NaNa. So we had to stay til' 2.
haha yeah I hated my high school b/c we had a bunch of non dedicated kids who b**ched about not ending at 9 or 9:30 it was ridiculous
*Wow...how nice is it to talk about high school and using the past tense?
for high school, around 9, 9:30.
college: main stage: 11 pm
college: extra stuff: whenever we could meet and do it. so, who knows how late it would go.
Shakespeare theatre of NJ: there are Equity actors that work here and the contract is that, for tech week, its 10 out of 12. so, for the outdoor stage, since we are performing at night and need to know how the lights work for the night time, tech rehearsals start at 12, two hour dinner break between 5 and 7, and end at midnight. then production meeting afterwards ends at about 12:30.
fun stuff. gone through all that this past weekend for Taming of the Shrew. (come see it at College of St. Elizabeth in Madison NJ. Part of the Shakespeare Theatre of NJ 2006-07 season! It's a fantastic show. starts tomorrow, Tues. July 18th!
I don't think I've ever had a tech rehearsal go much past 11, ever. Maybe 11:30 at the worst.

Well, for the student directed/produced shows at my school I've had a couple of 3am nights, but that was just the production staff continuing to work after a tech rehearsal.

I've never had a bad one, maybe 10:30PM at the latest. However, this show I might be doing they have late shows, like actual performances. On Tuesday and Saturday we have a 7:00pm show and a 10:30pm show. WTF? Ha.
Till 2 am on two seperate ocassions: Our Town at a community theater and George M! at a summer theater.
The director of the show I'm in right now is a pretty crabby guy, but he hasn't kept us too late. Rehearsal is supposed to end at 10:30 - we did the first act of My Fair Lady last night, and the second act tonight, and got out ridiculously early. But tomorrow, I think we may put it together... and we'll never leave. Yar.

I think about 12:30 is the latest. So not too bad.

Don't recall how late my hell tech for "Cabarety" went back in the early 1980's, but it went on and on for eighteen hours.

For college, a little after midnight and the last hour it was just us getting notes about the rehearsed performance. But we had to make sure after the first dress rehearsal night to get done before midnight since the center for the arts closed around that time. When I worked stage crew for our musical last semester we got out during a reasonable time between 9-10 PM, but we had new spotlight cues given to us on opening night.
At my High School, they are not allowed to keep us past midnight, but I recall a dress rehersal that went until about 1 in the morning. Then the director kept us for notes until about 1:45
I think about midnight for Into the Woods the full week.
Latest was to midnight for Beauty and the Beast.
Midnight.

High School: How does... 9:40 sound? And people bitch about that.
I'm in a Christian theatre troupe and sometimes we have rehearsal/lock-ins for our shows. Rehearsals lasted until 1 or 2 am. Then rehearsal the next day started at 11. We all stay up and are soooooo tired.
