This belongs in the off topic and it's spelled "Parade". What were they supposed to do? Have thousands gather to see Broadway songs from shows not playing? Put everyone's safety at risk? I think not.

Did you have a stroke in the middle of posting this?
Regarding the "parad" anyone who thought it would happen as normal is a fool.
As for what WILL be happening, in lieu of the normal parade...I appreciate Macy's wanting to do something, but this all sounds like a mess:
From the official press release:
As part of Macy’s comprehensive health and wellness plan a number of changes will be implemented in order to execute this event safely. These changes include, but are not limited to the following:
Reducing the overall number of participants by approximately 75%, and splitting the remaining participants over two days
All participants will be appropriately socially distanced during performances and be required to wear face coverings and additional personal protective equipment depending on their role
Shifting to a television-broadcast-only production with staging for Parade elements focused solely in/ around the Herald Square area of Midtown Manhattan
The traditional 2.5-mile Parade route will not be utilized this year
No participant in the Parade will be under 18 years of age
Previously selected regional High School and College Marching Bands performances will be deferred to the 2021 Macy’s Parade, with locally based professional marching and musical ensembles taking musical duties in the lineup
Macy’s traditional Giant Balloon Inflation public event on Wednesday will not take place
Macy’s signature giant character balloons will be flown without the traditional 80-100 handlers and instead employ an innovative, specially rigged anchor vehicle framework of five specialty vehicles tested and approved by the NYCDOT and NYPD

Problems with my pad are reason for typos
To those who say I was sick for what I said just think of this . The economy of the state and country possibly damaged for God knows how long . 2 or 3 people at a table was a big problem while those protesting and looting and our high and mighty elected officials were silent. The same group calling for death to cops among other things are given a free pass but livelihoods of countless thousands are possibly finished and that is a problem . Sorry I am not the sick one.
Have a nice holiday season

Every time you bitch about this year, NYC, Cuomo, DeBlasio, not being able to do things because of the pandemic, and "lost memories" that you can't make because things are shut down, I'm going to post a person who lost their life this year due to Covid19, to remind you that you are here, you have air in your lungs and your family can still see you. Not visit you at a cemetery.
Up first, a huge loss for the Broadway community. He was 41 years old and perfectly healthy. I bet if he was here today, he would be grateful and playing with his infant son, who will never remember his Father. This is Nick Cordero.

You don't even live in NYC.
If you actually gave a **** about people with lost incomes and failing businesses, you’d lobbying your esteemed GOP leaders and imploring them to actually craft a comprehensive aid bill to help people, businesses, and state and local governments.
But all you care about is that you and the Mrs. can’t go to some tired old workhorse of a restaurant after seeing the Rockefeller tree, now that you’ve turned NYC into the at-a-remove tourist stop you always wanted it to be.

It is people like Mr. Roxy who make me thankful their generation will be long forgotten soon and for good reason.
