2026 Tony Awards Nominations! — Page 6

I think the real snub- meaning a deliberate shutting-out rather than exclusion due to lack of consensus- was reserved for Queen of Versailles and to a lesser extent Beaches.

Has anyone done a wellness check on September L. Davis? I hope she doesn't relapse from Ana Gasteyer, who stole her role in Schmigadoon, getting a Tony nomination for it.
Love Ana Gasteyer's social media game right now.

I'm surprised Linda Emond and Trip Cullmann weren't nominated for their work on Becky Shaw.

But that still begs the question: what’s winning Best Musical?
It feels like momentum is in Schmigadoon’s favor right now."
Originality has beenfavored in this category for decades now, so TWO STRANGERS it is."
I don't know. I'm getting strong "Outsiders" vibes from "Lost Boys." Mix-positive reviews, a killer set design, ShoBean, and ripe for young fanbase.

And I would add: Stephen Schwartz in particular. They really went out of their way not to nominate his score.

I wish that Anne Reid could've been recognized for her very strong work in Oedipus.

Aya Cash surprised me. I loved her in You're The Worst and The Boys but thought she was borderline terrible in Giant. I was actually surprised by how bad I thought her performance was, because other than Lithgow it was the one I was looking forward to the most

Is this production's interpretation going to have the same impact on a road house owner voter in Omaha that it does here? Maybe it does, but it's at least worth considering. And in a race this tight, that could potentially be enough to shift it one way or another."
I don't have an exact count for this year, but the "road voters" are typically about 100 people out of 800.
- They don't all vote based on what they think their subscribers will like.
- Some of them have investments in shows.
- Some are in quite liberal markets. Some are not. But CATS would probably skip the deep-red states anyways.
- ALW has made them a lot of money over the years.
- The thinking can also be that a more "challenging" show needs a win to help it on the road.
Some of the points above contradict other points. But this is an industry of contradictions.
One of the reasons why the Road Conference is such a big thing is not just because of those ~100 "road voters", it's because their marketing and sales people are in town also to see shows for future touring seasons, and it's a big coming-together of various Broadway League members (Broadway producers and GMs in addition to people who work in touring markets) where they all gab about their faves and go to parties and panels and see shows.

Does anyone else think Shoshana has a strong chance to win Featured Actress? I haven't seen The Lost Boys, and I know it's divisive, but this is her third Tony nom in five years, and all have been in this category. I feel like she could have an "overdue" narrative of sorts that leads her to a win.

The nominees are already too white but I'm a bit sad for Madeline Brewer getting snubbed.

Yeah, she's been my predicted winner for a little while now. Nichelle's performance is divisive, Cruz's role is small, and Rachel Dratch certainly isn't getting it. I guess Ana Gasteyer could be a dark horse, but all signs point to a Shoshana career recognition Tony to me.

I have seen The Lost Boys. I think out of everyone nominated, she has the least chance to win over someone like Hannah Cruz who I've been hearing raves about.

lol no she stands in the center the whole time and sets up a dinner table if not they have her twirling for a moment while belting. She stands no chance. If someone says she’s going to win they are a tik toker or with the show bless

I know you didn't like the show, but come on. She carries a lot of weight in the show and delivers a strong performance regardless of what she is asked to do. I don't know if she will win- it's an unsettled category- she is easily one of the strongest parts of the cast.

Cruz' s role might be small but she and Nicholas Christopher are the only standouts in this current revival of Chess. Hanna nails the accent and steals every scene she's in. She completely outshined Lea on stage, despite both being phenomenal vocalists. I'm rooting for her.

When I saw Hannah Cruz in The Connector, I knew she was a star on the rise.

Beaches will announce closing now right?

Don't have to tell me twice! I would vote for Hannah easily if I had a vote, this is just me trying to predict the actual winner.

Man the Tony awards committee really has some hate for Lea Michele, so disappointing. Looks like Caissie will be practicing her acceptance speech.

Even if Michele got nominated, she wasn't going to win this year.

I agree with all of this for Cats. But think set could go to Two Strangers for its creativity - and not an expensive bulk (because we can). Ragtime may get a few wins but not all in acting categories.
Two Strangers def get score and Musical and maybe a surprise (but deserved) win in the acting category.
I do not think LB is the winner of lighting. Think it could go Cats for this one. It's a far more complex and qued show technically.

Will Stephen Schwartz die without a Tony win? Possibly.
