Hopefully a cast album will be released now. I'm so curious with everything that's changed after recording the concept album.

The Winter Garden would be PERFECT for this.
The reviews have been very strong. Broadway, please!
The NYT Review is good but doesn’t exactly demand a transfer.
True, it doesn't demand it...but I'm sure Andy might take a chance. I wonder if he still has a deal with the Shuberts...I believe it was it was suppose to premiere at the Shubert Theatre at one time.

It seems so long that this has been in the planning/prep stages... I thought I remembered that it was supposed to have a World Premiere here in the US but they were having trouble locating an available theatre at the time. Sadly that shouldn't be a problem now

Any updated rumor on whether or when this show might transfer to Broadway?

I think it's far too early (pun intended) to speculate about a Broadway transfer so soon. Let's see how the show does financially.

Bit of a kerfuffle over the West End Live performance. What I watched of the performance was not good - and I actually stopped less than a minute in - apparently it may have gotten worse. Carrie Hope Fletcher apologized - but could have used some wordsmithing - and the Official London Theatre YouTube site has removed the video. This is her apology - which I copied form Theatreboard as I didnt see it on her twitter or instagram pages.
I’m a really big fan of hers and I knew from the moment the West End Live performance started that something was up. Carrie is not a beltress, she’ll never play Elphaba, and has a very classic MT voice that isn’t on trend these days. Pair that with a concert performance where her monitor didn’t work, it just didn’t come off well. It’s nice they removed the video since at this point people were only using it to scrutiny and make fun of her.
It must be mortifying to have this worst case scenario happening and while I agree she probably should’ve given it some time before responding, we’ve been without theatre for so long that people are clamoring for drama where they can find it.
Are we taking about the “Bad Cinderella” performance? Because the video on YouTube that I just watched doesn’t lead me to think anything was “off” unless I’m really missing something.

The only thing I was focusing on was how she manages to control her singing while being dragged and lifted and everything!
I watched it last night on YouTube and could tell she was not on the right key (think Idina Menzel, NYE "Let it go" - not that bad, but...) I did feel badly for her and the cast, because it really seemed like it was a mess. They would have been much better off either having her doing a solo with ALW "Far too Late" or let Ivano do "Only You, Lonely You" in that setting
She's just off, but honestly, not that bad. She still sounds good, just not the right key.
I don’t even have a good enough ear to notice she’s in the wrong key. If she couldn’t hear the track that was pretty impressive. Just seems a little low energy.

I had the same reaction. Her vocals and timing come across perfectly fine to me!

The first time I heard 'Bad Cinderella' being plugged I joined in with 'In My Own Little Corner'. Why lift a melody from R&H's Cinderella? Had ALW used 'Pipe Dream' few would have noticed. When I saw 'Sunset BLVD' a couple of years ago I was irritated that the recitative sounded like it had been lifted from 'Pass That Football' from 'Wonderful Town'. |I have only seen two of ALW's shows and am now cured.

The Bad Cinderella /In my own little corner was intentional, as ALW has openly said he considered R&H one of his biggest influences
As for "Pass the Football" - just listened to it and don't hear anything that connects remotely to the score of Sunset Blvd.

"
The opening of Pass the Football sounds exactly like “Every Movie’s a Circus?” Webber has been stealing for years. There are lots of YouTube videos showing what he lifted such as THIS one.
Y’all really think you’re solving something with the Bad Cinderella comparison huh

So you're just not a creative person, huh? I can see the comparison, sure. But an artist being influenced by another artist is nothing new. He took those inspirations and made it his own. Look at the countless peopel who have taken Shakespeare and just morphed it into their own: The Lion King.

If this transfers to Broadway it needs a venue that will handle the surprise that happens before the ball scene.....
