Bored of this crap now. Oak's career will be fine, he has the support of everyone in the industry. Sorry if that will be too offensive for you guys to handle. Peace out.
"
I never speculated that Oak was responsible for the twitter hate... all I pointed out was the his silence didn't help, which it really didn't.
And his only statement was to say he was done with the show. After the original announcement from producers said he was welcome to come back, which granted, maybe it wasn't true, but that's not the point.

Also, his statement had a hashtag that said "the fans made room" which means he was fully aware of the backlash the show was receiving. Yet, his only statement is to say he's done.

I just wanna know if Alexis Michelle facetimed Oak in tears in behalf of Patinkin, or not.

Did anyone see or know someone who saw the show last night? I saw a few comments on twitter saying Oak looked completely unengaged, like he didn't want to be there. Could be a couple people reading in to it though

Too bad they didn't make room in their wallets.

So what is Daveed Diggs up to these days? He would make a great Pierre, I have no idea about his vocal range for their part, but I sure think he's cute.

People stood up for Oak's Dust and Ashes last night, according to someone I know who was there. He was on fire last night, don't believe anything else.

By the way... I've never seen Comet up on Todaytix or among the lower tier point redeem tickets on audiencerewards. If they're truly in death throes you'd think they'd want to fill some seats.

Cool. Like I said, I only saw a few random tweets so I was wondering if someone here knew more. I'm glad he's still giving his all

Go visit Oak's Twitter. He retweeted Josh Groban who had tweeted a thread that had called out the outrage culture and stood up for the show. Is that enough for you guys?
Including a nod to the fan's support in an Instagram hashtag is hardly inciting any backlash against the show.

Diggs is keeping himself quite busy with a full schedule of TV/film projects including a just announced film with none other than Rafael Casal.
Maybe in a few years, someone will write a play about a fictional meeting between Oak and Patinkin a la Mary Stuart.

Canceled my tickets for 8/30. Five less seats sold. No issues with Telecharge about refund. If I'm the type of person the show was trying to reach to buy tickets, it won't work now. Just.A.Hot.Mess.

Um... The last thing the role needs is being cute.

It's been on TDF a lot though. That's a better indication than Audience Rewards or Today Tix

TDF is fairly useless for out-of-towners who can't visit NYC on a whim... I'm only saying that expanding the options to purchase discounted tickets would seem like a logical effort to save the show.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: John Legend as Pierre.

Unfortunately, the "star" that they're rumored to be courting will do nothing but result in a collective "huh?"

That sounds ominous.

Mandy Patikin is a notoriously prickly actor. He left at least 2 tv shows due to creative differences with producers. I don't think he actually gives a damn what Twitter has to say about him.
If he says that he declined the role because the producers misrepresented themselves, then I believe him.
This is all on the producers and the producers only.

Plot twist: it actually doesn't close by Labor day and subsequently goes out on an even weirder note?

I don't get the hysteria about this show. It's a tuneless hot mess, like some student show. Anyone saying it's the best thing they've ever seen has obviously seen some BAAD shows.
That aside, this is a mess of a situation. 1. The stupidity of these producers thinking that just because some guy has been in Hamilton he will sell tickets, and 2. That Oak (whom I'd never heard of before) was dumped so unceremoniously. He owes those producers nothing after that treatment. The whole show is tainted now and it will close very fast.
