Including, perhaps most critically, from Kate Shindle:AEA v. St. Martin "
St. Martin has really bungled pretty much every aspect of her leadership in the last two years. It seems as though she never expected she’d actually have to, like, lead.

Please. She's been making an awful mess of things since she got in there. I was only 14 in 2007 during the stagehands' strike but even then I remember thinking she was an idiot.
I find it childish and irresponsible for Shindle to be posting things in that tone (copycatting what St. Martin said). She's the president of the union, seriously grow up.

It’s how social media works, babe. Formality doesn’t fly.

Maybe if she was a fangirl, but she's the president of a union that represents tens of thousands of people.

And St. Martin is out running her mouth to every publication that will have her, saying things that are actually irresponsible, like demeaning and scapegoating a whole segment of the working union membership to cover the League's ass.
Shindle is using her personal social media as she sees fit. If it was an AEA press release, it's a different matter.

Mods deleting posts about calling Charlotte St. Martin incompetent is truly LOL to me.
Repeated again: she is incompetent and ignorant about theater, other than how she can make money from it. She fits in perfectly with the other head honchos in the theater industry. She and the rest of the big wigs calling these shots will continue to be the industry's downfall. ...And will continue to not understand what they are doing wrong.
The wild thing is that St. Martin had no experience in theater, the arts, or entertainment before being hired by the League. She comes from the hotel/hospitality world.

I've got no take on St. Martin and her (lack of) qualifications, but it is not at all unusual for the CEOs of trade or professional associations to come from outside the trade or profession. That's been true for me twice in my career.
