Also now having seen the production, I could understand how Adam's ad-libbing would be out of place in If You Could See Her...
TBH, I'm not sure if this is how it was played with the other Emcees in this production but it felt like Emcee isn’t a person or even a real tangible thing but an idea? The changing tides of Germany personified?
One more thing (and to push the next page to be visible) their flaccid attempt at being a "night club" is so try hard and cringe. You're not Berghain, you're not Basement. The stickers over the cameras is so cringe as if you're actually going to see any drug use or sex beyond that point and so out of pace with the vibes they're going for with the actual "Club."

That's…definitely a take.
I saw the show today (OMG, Orville and Eva are unreal!) and I appreciated that without being able to take pictures it removed people feeling the need to “get” a snap and prevent others from focusing on the show.. I’m all for it.
Getting home from tonight's show and want to quickly sing the praises of Orville Peck's performance. I know who he is but have never listened to any of his music (I will tomorrow, though) so I didn't know what to expect. What he does is give one of the best Emcee performance I've seen so far in this production - Fra Fee still probably being my hands down favorite. But after about 15 or so actors now that I've seen take on the role in Frecknall's "Cabaret", Peck brought this intensity to the role I don't think anyone else dared to do, yet. I realized the people who shine for me in this production do it completely in spite of Frecknall's direction. And I hope that makes sense to people who have seen it. The ending of his "If You Could See Her" was kind of jaw dropping and not a peep from the audience. You could hear a pin drop. It was great that he managed to hold the entire audience in the palm of his hand the entire 3 hours.
If you've seen the show before and contemplated going back, this is the time to do it. I'm already dream casting future roles for the man.
So this is the closing cast, right?

Not even close, they’ve got huge names lined up in the future and this show’s staying open for years. :)

Just like the Wicked film was certainly going to flop, right?

Tickets are on sale until January of next year. This might be new mainstay on Broadway and i am so ****ing glad.
Tickets on sale is not always an indicator of how long a show WILL stay open.
Chicago aside, revivals don't usually have long staying power..a year to 18months is pretty normal for a successful revival.

Y’all won’t believe the names in conversation and apparently signed. Crazy things at the once seemingly doomed Kit Kat club.
I just want Ellen Greene as Schneider, for some reason.

i am once again asking for gerard way emcee
I saw the original cast last spring, but revisited this show on Saturday to see Orville Peck. He did not disappoint. I enjoyed his take far more than Redmayne's. I'd definitely see again if I lived in the area.
Eva Noblezada out for the matinee today. Not sure if it was scheduled.
I just wanted to come back and say that the night I saw this 5 days ago, I downloaded Peck's first album "Pony" and listened to it. Then listened to it again. I was up until after 4am with it on repeat and for the past 5 days, it's the only thing I've listened to. Gotdamn that man is amazing.
It is crazy that when this revival was mounted we all were basically like ‘this is neverrrrr going to survive without Eddie Redmayne’ and now it’s kind of like ‘Eddie who?’

Arguably, it isn’t surviving. If the break-even number is still basically the same as when it opened, the show is struggling. Orville may be an improvement over his predecessor(s), performance-wise, but he’s not pulling the audience yet. They’re still going to need big names to rejuvenate interest.

Wait until you get to “Bronco”. Chef’s kiss from start to finish.

Is she just skipping all the matinees? She was out when I saw it yesterday, and I just read a comment on Instagram that she was out on Saturday too.
Orville is absolutely incredible in this role. If only that replacement Tony we always talk about actually existed.

She was out the Sat mat 4/19 and Wed mat 5/7
Saw the show a few days ago, and WOW - Eva Noblezada and Orville Peck are spectacular in these roles! The best duo we've had since Alan Cumming and Emma Stone. I saw this production in London and was really underwhelmed by the cast and direction. This time around, while I still have issues with some of the direction, the performance was much more enjoyable. I figured that if I were going to see it on Broadway, it would be for the cast - even though it’s my favorite musical - and they did not disappoint. I really wish we had a cast recording of these two. Bravo!

She hasn't done a Wednesday matinee in over a month.
