I was about to be upset with the rumor that he's leaving since I just bought tickets to DEH this morning, but I just remembered Mean Girls is in DC, where I live nearby, so it's a win-win.
No source, that person just joined today. He's not going to be in it as a minor role after probably winning the Best Actor Tony. He's contracted through November.

maybe he could be playing Damian? it's not really a minor role
I'm guessing they would get a actor who is the same weight as the actor in the movie
Nic Rouleau would be perfect for Damian

gotta believe you are hearing or making up the wrong things.
This guy has given every ounce of his body and soul to DEH, and logic dictates that he'll take a well deserved mental break after this. I could be wrong, but I'm willing to bet that his next move isn't another new show ASAP.

Uhhhh....??? Not necessarily?
Mental break is something that can be solved by spending a week on the beach somewhere not months of not working. This is his livliehood and every actor has bills to pay no matter how physically or mentally demanding a role is. Just because they aren't on Broadway or in a movie doesn't mean they aren't working on something somewhere. Plus, he's all but a lock for the Tony at this point, Andy Karl aside. Ben will be a hot commodity and as Betty White says never say no to work. These shows have great teams to keep these actors healthy, check the small print in the playbills, PT, vocal support, etc. The part is hard, but the fact he's done it 100 times consecutively means he's got his routine down and has figured out how to navigate the challenges. Things do happen, actors are humans not immune to the same things you and I are. Sometimes I think people in this board expect too much or make unrealistic assumptions about the business in general. It's art, but it's a job.

Just curious if anyone has heard anything about the "rumor"- or at least report by one poster- that Ben will leave in October to be in Mean Girls?
I know nothing of it's validity, but it's not unheard of for an actor to leave a show for another opportunity and simply extend his contract to make the terms (a year, in this case) valid.
Per an Instagram post from Michael Park, Colton Ryan is on tonight for Ben.

Link? I checked his page and couldn't find it.
^ apparently he deleted it. I would post a picture of a screenshot, but I don't know I how.
Looking at Twitter, it does seem to be true that Platt is out tonight. I was there last night and, while still pretty amazing, his voice definitely did crack at a few points.

lets answer the question of the thread - How is Ben Platt's attendance? Almost 200%
he may have missed his second show in over 200 of them. The guy is gold.

Yet the op is not looking for an exaggeration that barely answers his or her question.

Not sure if 200 is the exact number, but yeah, if we're going with 2 out of 200 his attendance is 99.99%.
Unfortunately Ben was out at tonight's performance
198 out of 200 is 99%, not 99.99%, that would be 1998 out of 2000 performances.
I'm going this Sunday to watch DEH. Hope he's back by then. It's my first time seeing it as I'm from Australia. I see Ben's a guest on Live With Kelly and Ryan on Monday.
