I’m not surprised. It had a built in fan base and bridge and tunnel bachelorette parties love it.

mediocre or not, Jordan hit the nail on the head. They are seeing "Pretty Woman" and that is all that matters.

I'm biased but I would have assumed that Cher would have a bigger fanbase than Pretty Woman. I would rather watch someone recreate her life and performances than a mediocre musical adaptation of a movie that, last I checked, is playing on basic cable at least once a week.

I hate speculating about closings, but for this one...maybe September. I don’t know what will happen once Orfeh and Eric Anderson leave.

They should just let Pretty Woman run and for advertising just say: "Everything else is closing and you've already seen Wicked and Phantom...Pretty Woman: Might As Well"

Idk...I guess I just thought that apart from Samantha Barks and Andy Karl, those were the main cast members who people would want to see. I think?

Aside from the small minority of hard-core theatre fans, the people seeing Pretty Woman don’t give the slightest crap about any original cast member, especially not Orfeh and Eric Anderson.

I really would expect it to close Labor Day weekend. And then they would just use the sets and stuff for the tour. There is no way that I can see it making through another fall

Perhaps take it up with the original poster who said that then?

It would be so awful if Brennin Hunt, who broke his foot during Rent, moved his entire family from Nashville to NYC to do this show and it closed before he started.  Man, I hope he at least gets a month or two in!

The only reason I ever even considered seeing Pretty Woman was because I adore Andy Karl.

I cant paste the picture, but in 2014 in London I have a photo from the Novello Theatre where, under the marquee for  Mamma Mia there was a banner saying "You already know you're going to love it" 

 

So maybe not that far fetched?

Yes, he leaves in a month.  He is the only reason to see this honestly, so go go go!
