Just curious. Have you seen her in "Scorpion" orjust from her part on "SMASH"?"
Saw her in both...found nothing interesting about anything she created -she was a big reason why I didn't keep watching Scorpion.

Saw the show last night and was thoroughly impressed with McPhee. She's not doing anything stellar in terms of acting, but it is definitely good enough. Her voice is perfect for the role and she truly does soar in all of the songs. I was actually shocked at how weak the other two ladies were, especially being that they have both been in the show for a while now.

First of all, her wigs look much better than the pics from her opening night, which made me extemepy happy. I’ve seen Jessie and Stephanie, and I would say Kat is less “chipper” than the others. Her portrayal is nice and believable, just different. She did even better in act two, and the audience ate her up.
Her singing blew me away. I always assumed her vocals on albums or SMASH were half the work of audio tech magic, but I dare say she sings the role better than anyone. Her belting and riffs (here and there, not a Shoshana Bean in Wicked situation) has my mouth agape.
I was so pleased that the audience showed their love for her. She really is doing a great job for being so early in her run.
The rest of the cast felt...off for the first act. It was as though they hadn’t found their chemistry yet - act two was much better, and Christopher is still the biggest joy in the whole thing. Husband performance is always fresh and hilarious. I miss the first two actors who played Earl, they made him much more menacing than our current guy who is more just angry at the world.
I plan on going again, near the end of her run, to see what changes.

Seeing Jeremy Jordan for the first time on Smash, I never thought he wasn't talented. I thought he was given a ****ty character to play but his skill shone through that.

I went last night thanks to audience rewards!
I've seen Jessie and Betsy, so I came in a little skeptical, but Katherine is blowing it out of the water! As said previously on the boards, she's vocally probably the best Jenna we've seen. I found her acting to be realistic of a woman in this situation, not too much, not too little.
The chemistry between her and the cast seemed pretty settled in. I plan on going back later in the run with my parents since they love this show so much!

Ok. I think she has improved since SMASH and is a fairly good actress in "Scorpion". I think the show overall has gone downhill since the first two seasons but that is due to the writers making the weekly things the team does more and more unbelievable.

His charchter was awful but I don't think he was that great either, even vocally. He has definitely had much better performances than his time in SMASH.

Sounds really good, wishing her success !!

Which got me thinking....what do you guys think about Megan Hilty as Jenna? I can already hear her killing “What Baking Can Do” and “She Used to Be Mine”, we know she can do the accent, and she shines in both comedic and dramatic moments. I would LOVE to see her step into the role.

The show is in good shape I hadn’t seen it since the original cast. Act two still seems to have structure issues though.
We did rush tickets, got there around 8:00 and was first in line. Orch J 9 - 13. Great seats.
P.S. - did they shorten You Matter To Me?

I'd love to see Megan Hilty or Carmen Cusack as Jenna personally.

Wasn’t part of the reason torns had sold out shows, because it was spring break?
Id love to see Joe Carroll and Christine Dwyer in the show. They would both be amazing

So... do we think she'll be extending in Waitress?

She did indicate that she would need the two weeks after her scheduled end date as vacation for previously planned engagements.

She said she was open to returning after a vacation if they'll have her.

Hope she does extend, that gives me a chance to see her in the show.

I saw her this past Sunday, and I really enjoyed her. I have seen Jessie, Sara and Betsy play the role of Jenna thus far, and Katharine really held her own. I may go back with my mom since she has yet to see the show.
