NPH's sunny day, through the window behind him, proves this is not live.

Lin-Manuel tweeted something along the lines of "Raul, why didn't you prerecord like the rest of us?" which leads me to believe you're correct. I thought this was going to be akin to the Disney on Broadway concert for BC/EFA, where the recorded performance was woven in with Ryan McCartan's live hosting and interviews with some of the participants. Who knows, though."
ya lin tweeted and deleted this"
He needed to delete that. It wasn't the time to be calling people out on what they chose to do or not do. It lacked class.
Is it really a big deal that it's not live?

Oh Kelli O'Hara...
Kelli O'Hara's performance of "What More Do I Need?" was worth the hourlong wait. Simply wonderful.
I think it actually works better without a host. The focus is now on celebrating Sondheim’a works and the man himself, and his works, performed by the pantheon of amazing artists, are enough to show why he is such a crucial part to our musical theater culture and consciousness.
Sigh. I love Kelli but I was excited for her to do something different and she does "What More Do I Need?" again. Do a different Sondheim piece!
Judy sounds beautiful!

NPH's Witch's Rap = whomp whomp
I mean, I'll take the entertainment... but that rap should be comic gold, and why can't anyone put that to tape other than Bernadette? OBC recording is a perfect performance of the song.
Neal was more disappointing than Meryl in the movie... and that's a low bar to miss.
Much credit to the mixing of orchestra and singer is wonderful. They are doing such a WONDERFUL job. All my earlier tech complaints are vanished.
If everything was recorded, why the hour+ delay?
There are some really lovely artworks, does anyone know who's the author?
Ok not feeling Katrina Lenk's singing style in this at all.
Oh, Katrina. This is just perfection.
Judy Kuhn nailed my fave rare Sondhiem song. I am so glad she chose it. I wept. Katrina singing Johanna made my cry too. Stunning.

This is so in her wheelhouse. Beautiful.

This is wnat everyone's wondering. Looks like someone may not have a job tomorrow.
I'm hoping they eventually release something that is watchable from beginning to end.

Agreed That was lovely.
It's pretty amazing to think that at one time, ALL of television was live. They were able to flawlessly pull off things like Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA with Julie Andrews, etc. The list goes on and on.
Oh, and this isn't live. All of these numbers were prerecorded. The only "live" thing about it was, I'm guessing, Raul doing the introductions. He's probably too upset to continue. At this point, I don't blame him.
Hopefully, the whole thing will be "fixed" tomorrow so that we can stream it on YouTube without all of the screwups.
Katerina is life.

I hope the whole thing will be available as a package tomorrow....keeps cutting out even after the delay....I hate to think what I am missing. I saw Kelli O'Hara and then Judy Kuhn thing just flat out froze up.

Aaron Tveit sounds great.
Oh my gosh. Lenk’s performance was gold. It hurts me so much to think I might never be able to see her in Company.
