There's no rush or lotteries announced yet, but the first three days (shows March 29-31) have tickets for sale with a TDF membership - those tickets are $57 in advance. (Plus the $40 annual membership fee you pay on their website.)
It's up on TDF for the first few previews, but I honestly don't think I even care about this enough to drop $57 on it, as good of a deal as that is.
They've REALLY bungled the ad/marketing strategy on this. Billy Crystal in a musical should be a slam dunk for bridge-and-tunnel ticketbuyers, at least for the first few months of the run.
It has a static ad campaign where he looks like a Madame Tussaud's statue. We haven't heard a note from the score. The video content on the show's YouTube channel with Billy isn't great. Yes, Billy has done some press and will probably continue to do some late-night appearances, and perhaps WOM/reviews will be good and things will improve...but there's an awful lot of inventory on Ticketmaster going into a star-driven production.
At least the folks who have been complaining about the prices will have a chance to get in cheaper now?
The show is on the Broadway Direct Lottery page so assuming it will be announced any day. The tickets are listed as $45.

This isn't selling, so I'm waiting on a discount code to pop up.

It's bizarre that this is selling so poorly. Did Billy Crystal's audience die off? Those prices maybe really did a number on audience interest? Seems like exactly the kind of thing people who come to Broadway to see something "nice" would want to see.
It’s not even a movie adaptation with a huge built in audience (I.E DOUBTFIRE or literally any Disney property).
They started too high because of hubris and turned everyone off to it without giving so much as a hint of what we’re on for.
I’m honestly expecting a lot of “meh” and I hope my $57 TDF ticket is one of the better seats.
I saw the show map for Wednesday and I like my odds

Is this the first incarnation of this musical or have they done some tryout anywhere before coming to Broadway?

It had a pre-Broadway tryout at Barrington Stage last fall.

Oh, I looked it up and seems only 9 performances, did anyone said anything about the production? especially JRB's score?

It has already been mentioned in this thread and other threads related to this show that it got a pared down 10 day try out at Barrington Stage Company this past October

While they may very well have botched the marketing on this, if the music has not changed from that included in Barrington Stage try out, then there is nothing in the score that would have helped to advertise this show. So generic and unmemorable. Hoped, maybe, that some of the songs were placeholders - cannot possibly be the score they would take Broadway. I love Billy Crystal and JRB and would love the show to succeed, but don't see it if the music hasn't changed significantly. Looking forward to being wrong.
The fact that Randy Graff is involved makes the project somewhat interesting to me.

Interesting take - as a musician I *LOVED* the music in this. So much depth, such a departure from the run of the mill Broadway scores.

Video of Billy Crystal thanking audience at final dress of ''Mr. Saturday Night.''
The former Oscar host also quips about the slap that happened Sunday night.

Where's she been? She hasn't been on Broadway in 20 years since Fiddler.
This is the most Jewish musical since “Fiddler”. We’re pissing ourselves laughing and i got a cramp from laughing so hard. Lots of Broadway folk in the audience tonight and everyone is having the best time.

Would love to hear your full thoughts on the Mr. Saturday Night preview thread I started, Jakey. I'll bump it in a bit... the show clocked in at 2 hrs 20 with an intermission when it played Barrington Stage.

Randy did a show at the Mitzi Newhouse at Lincoln Center called The Babylon Line with Elizabeth Reaser and Josh Radner about 4 years ago.
Like many, there was no way I was going to spend $199 for the last row of the mezzanine.
Then, the last few mezzanine rows dropped to $139, so I bought a $139 ticket.
But then several days later, the last 2 rows in the mezz dropped to $119.
I easily obtained a full refund for the $139 ticket, as many shows are fully refundable thru April 30.
But $119 is still high.
Weighing other options before biting on a $119 ticket.
Got my tickets yesterday for Sunday, May 1st. Rear orchestra for $119.
