I went back to see Maya and she was as amazing as I've imagined.
I mean, she took everything she was known for as a comedian (the many voices, the cadence) and made this Mary a spoiled little brat and kinda worked from the start.
There were momentos that she made me laugh that I didn't know if I had laughed with Cole (that yes, gave a better performance but then again they created the role) like the ''I'm wet... I mean, confused'' line that just had me rolling.
Most of the cast is very good but I miss Ricamora, he was a perfect Lincoln.

I’m actually excited about this because her incredibly bratty and clueless character on HACKS will translate nicely to this medium. I’m curious to see how far she will push it, but I already got my ticket for the first week.
I am actually surprised at how early this announcement came. It breaks the pattern for new Mary’s being announced at least halfway through the current run, but I think they are trying to get a jump on those summer dollars.

Meg Stalter has been at the top of my dream Mary list so I grabbed a ticket for July 6th as fast as my little thumbs could go. Seeing Maya a week earlier. What a time to be alive.

I wish Mr. Blackwell was still alive and that it was still OK for elderly gay men to say outrageously cruel things about creatures born with ovaries.
I follow Ms Stalter's hairdresser on insta and every time he posts pics of her I throw up a little bit in my mouth.

She definitely has the possibility of being the most chaotic Mary. Also, her and Cole are close friends, so it was likely just a matter of time before Meg did this.

I wonder if this is preemptive of Meg headlining the tour, since her run ends on 9/12 and the tour starts on 9/16. She would be a great choice.
