According to the box office, she's planning on being on tonight, but they'll let ticket holders know ASAP if that changes. With the numbers currently higher than the afternoon (at least at my quick glancing/googling), I don't know how likely that is.

I was at the matinee today, after being gifted a ticket by someone who was unable to attend.

The performance started a few minutes later than usual (I want to say around 2:12pm), and, yes, about 5 minutes in Jodie Comer apologized to the audience and said she couldn't breathe in this air. She exited the stage, they made an announcement that they would be holding, and the curtain was brought back down. About 20 minutes later (at around 2:40pm), they said that they were planning on resuming at 2:45pm, with Dani Arlington going on. At this point, many in the audience began booing, with one man shouting "I object!," and the mass exodus began. The aisles were backed up with so many people leaving, and they didn't end up restarting the performance until around 3pm.

I understand the disappointment in not being able to see Comer perform, but the booing was disheartening. Comer was doing what she felt she needed to do to keep herself safe, and Arlington was stepping up to help make sure that the show could still go on. I don't envy the position of either of them, and wish there had been a bit more respect displayed from the audience this afternoon.

As for the show, I thought Arlington was wonderful (and also enjoyed Comer in the five minutes of her performance that I saw), and thought the entire piece was well paced and well-designed. I really enjoyed the way music was used throughout the show, even starting from the preshow. I hadn't been planning on catching this, but I'm glad I was able to, even if the circumstances surrounding this afternoon's performance were a bit chaotic.

With the air quality much worse now then at 2pm, I can't see her going on. Possibly they simply cancel instead?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

How incredibly f*cking RUDE and disrespectful to Dani. I can't imagine being in her position. They probably should have canceled it though since most people are there to specially see Jodie. Ouch.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show, but geez, people are terrible. I mean, I'm certainly not surprised, but this is still sad to hear. Be disappointed, get your refund, but don't ****ing boo when someone can't carry on for health reasons. Ugh, people. I hope the audience who stayed were appreciative to Arlington.

Ooof that’s quite an awful reaction. Of course I’d be disappointed (and will be if they cancel tonight), but I generally would prefer actors take care of themselves and their health. Random things happen and the understudy definitely deserves respect. Didn’t we just go over this during Covid??

That being said, if they end up cancelling after curtain again, I will admittedly be a bit salty I dragged myself to midtown, but che sarà sarà

The boos upset me. Comer could be an asthmatic and perilously close to serious consequences. I was at Sweeney this afternoon and worried for those glorious voices. Now Camelot has canceled tonight.

Currently in my seat with Jodie set to appear. Can’t help feeling like I’m part of the problem but since most shows are going on and with limited chances to see this, I’m grateful as well. From what I heard from the FOH staff, this afternoon was much smokier inside the theater.

I understand people being disappointed. I understand people deciding to get a refund. I don’t understand booing. That’s just depressing to read.

Did anyone attended last night's performance? How did Jodie do? Hope she's ok

Wow she performed?!?!?! The air quality in NYC became worse through the afternoon since air quality levels reached above 300 (hazardous) when I left work at 5pm.

She did! I don't know how she does that under normal conditions, let alone in this air AND after what happened in the matinee

I feel like there might have been some strong-arming involved. The producers probably wanted to try everything their power to keep it pushing, but after the reception the understudy got, they realized they came close to losing a whole performance worth of sales.

For those who booed when Arlington went on, to heck with ALL of them and their rude entitlement. Arlington does a magnificent job and is on with with and in some ways surpassed Comer. If this wasn’t a play that required a star to get produced, Arlington would be the critical darling of the season.

She did and was a powerhouse. I am in awe even though the play made me feel quite defeated. I felt bad because I could double mask outside and in, especially as the quality of the air was worse last night. I think people thought things had gotten better because the physical haze was much less in the evening, though things around midtown were peak awful smoke wise around the start of the matinee when it was physically drifting into theaters. I’m certain there are plenty of sore throats and coughs going around today, unfortunately.

Not to excuse that behavior but those tickets are expensive and I can believe most of them are tourists who went to this play, specifically for Comer. I can imagine the disappointment, because let's be honest, the play itself won't draw crowds in. It ain't that great. Comer could do a Springtime for Hitler revival and people would see that.

If it were up to me, I'd just cancel the show and give them refunds. The understudy had to go breathe that air, too. What about her health? And of the audience's? Comer being a celebrity shouldn't make her a priority if lives are at risk.

Finally saw this tonight and can understand why the play wasn’t nominated, but to ignore the director seems ridiculous. As talented as Comer is, are we to believe she created that extraordinary performance on her own?

I have an extra ticket for today's (6/25) matinee.  It's a lottery ticket so not sure of seat location.

Does anyone know what the AQI was the time Jodie walked off stage (I wasn't in the city that day)? Seeing today's matinee and kinda worried Jodie's not gonna show!

People need to drrrooppp itttttt. She did something to benefit her health. It’s not always about the audience.

That said, AQI was hazardous that day. It’s not that today. Jodie has been in all week and very unlikely she’ll miss her final shows as Tessa. Regardless, Dani her understudy is phenomenal.

Why do I need to drrrrrrrrooooooooppppppp iiiiiiittttttttttt? I just asked a question. I never said I wouldn't see Dani. I've heard nothing but good things and unlike many people who will be in that audience I only paid $31, so it's not like I paid star prices.

It's perfectly reasonable to want to see the star of a show period, but it's especially reasonable when it's a one-woman show and said one woman just won a Tony and Olivier for it!

If she decides to skip the matinee, I will fully support her decision and will be thrilled to see Dani. I just wanted to prepare for the possibility that she might not show. Sorry if you were personally offended.

On the same day she left the stage, she still did her evening performance a few hours later even though the air quality was even worse than at the time of the matinee, so she is not skipping performances lightly, it was just an extreme situation. She has performed the last two nights and even did stage door, and the air quality is improved today.

The air quality was actually at its absolute worst at the time of that matinee. The sky was amber and it hurt your eyes and throat to walk around outside, even with a mask, let alone without one. By the evening show, the air quality had improved somewhat.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Yes, I heard the problem was that the smoke had invaded the theatre when they opened the doors to let people in, and even the audience was having trouble breathing. Her understudy has said that by the time she got to go on almost an hour later it had already mostly dissipated inside the theater. By the time of the evening performance there was significantly less smoke, but I think the AQI levels were even worse if I remember correctly. Regardless, this week doesn't even come close to that day
