"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)
don't scare us like that. I'm hoping this doesn't hurt her Tony chances.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. By Ben, they mean Ben Vareen, the actor who originated the role of Lead Player in the original production of Pippin.

It was a treat to see Stephanie Pope slither on tonight for "Glory." To have Ms. Pope execute "Manson Trio" as her first number...well, it was chilling. A superb Fosse stylist, and a Leading Player who will only get better with more performances under her belt.
I hope this doesn't effect her Tony chances! The only problem now though, is that if someone else does win, there will be some people saying it was because Patina must have been out when the Voters came (which I guess we will never know if that would be the reason in my entirely hypothetical situation)
Did I catch her last performance when she was well? I went on 5/1, in the evening. Then, RIGHT thereafter, it would seem, she's been taken ill... Sending happy thoughts.
Hopefully it won't be like last year when Josh Young had so much trouble with his allergies and bronchitis. Going to the matinee today. I'm hoping that she's feeling better.
"The price of love is loss, but still we pay; We love anyway."
So I guess we were lucky to see Patina do the full matinee yesterday. I did notice a few cracks and weaknesses in the voice early on, but her energy level throughout the performance was amazing -- particularly now knowing how sick she must have been.
I was thinking about watching pippin yesterday, so stopped by the box office in the morning. Since I knew patina had been out for two perfs, I asked the box office if they would refund my ticket if she was out again, and he said no.
