She missed the humor of the self-important seriousness that Idina Menzel brought to the character."

You captured what I couldn’t put into words. She sang it very well. It’s not an easy song. It was energetic. She was committed. But it was missing the clarity you mention. Still, one of the better moments tonight.

I really do like the way they staged "Seasons of Love". They should have done something similar to this for the 2005 movie.

The staging may have been wrong but I am glad they gave Keala a solo, even if brief

I think people on here are way too harsh. To the average person this is a well put together production .

You have a point- to much of the viewing audience this isn't too bad- their standards are lower- ours may be a bot too high.

Take away-The ensemble is wonderful!

Really, RENT ensemble? In "Vie Boheme" you're going to SMILE while you raise your fist and shout, "Fight AIDS!" It's not meant to be the retro/"kitchy" number you're playing it as.

That is SO freaking sad. Low-energy rehearsal or not, this production and its cast don't get the show at all. If anyone thinks this particular interpretation of the show is "a well put together production", then the cast/director have done a very large disservice to Jonathan Larson and his work.

Sad. Very sad.

I ended up liking the way they did Seasons Of Love. At first i thought this was where we would see the original cast members, which would have been cool.

I was originally hoping that they would have either made cameos or at least been in la vie Boheme and seasons of love  now I’m assuming they’ll just appear for a reprise at the end  :/
