Previews start tomorrow for one of the most anticipated shows of the season. Who's going tomorrow?

I was one of the Instagram accounts given free tickets in exchange for helping with the announcement, so I’ll be attending tomorrow.

There are almost never weekday matinees during previews.  They spend the day rehearsing and perform at night.  And they don't usually add weekday matinees to a schedule until kids are out of school.  They do 5 show weekends instead.

I have tickets for tomorrow night! Curious to see if anything at all has changed since Chicago and Boston, but mostly just excited to experience this show again.

I'll also be there tomorrow night. I've also received an email from Broadway Direct stating that the show is about 80 min long with no intermission.

I'll be going on the 23rd very excited to finally see this show. I decided not to see it when I was in London since they had announced the Chicago run and I figured it would make its way to New York.

I'm going to rush in the AM. Not sure what time I'll get there. I stopped by the box office yesterday and they confirmed the 1st two rows and boxes are rush and lottery tix.

If you see me in line say hi. I'll be the 30 year old back guy with the Atlantis Gay Cruise duffel bag.

If you check the calendar on the official website right now, there are only 4 Wed matinees scheduled - 2 at the end of May/ and 2 at the beginning of June. They are the ONLY weekday matinees scheduled. The calendar shows tickets through the middle of September. 

There are no Monday shows until the summer ...when Wednesday will be the day off with no show (except for random holiday weeks).

I'll be there at the second to last preview in March, I believe. Hate that the prices were so high compared to when I saw it in London, especially considering the show isn't even 80-90 minutes. But that's Broadway prices, I guess. I could see this show recouping sooner than most shows considering the fan base, plus running costs shouldn't be considerable high, then including an 8-person cast (or is it 9 with 3 alternates?), plus such a small band.

13 in cast. 6 queens. 3 alternates. 4 ladies in waiting. There must be alternates fir the ladies in waiting. Then there is the confetti clean up crew....

FWIW I agree with you on the 3 show Friday, much more appealing for people coming from out of town.

 

It is only a mere 80 minutes long and just does 8 performances a week, where you can have shows that are 3 times that length and still do 8 performances a week. So do not understand why short shows don’t do more than 8 a week? They could have more alternatives and use those. In the slack months they could drop back to 8 performances and a good time for the artists to take vacation?

90 minute one-act plays don't do more than 8 shows a week and this show is more demanding than that.  And then there is the cost.  Actors, crews and musician get paid per performance, not per hour.  Increase the number of performances and your expenses rise.  And how are you going to contract the performers on varying schedules?  It's a legal nightmare.

Not a dumb question, the rush line will be done at 10:15, when everybody in rush gets their tickets, after that you're free to pick up your tickets

the cast has described the show as 75 minutes of cardio.  Doing that twice a day has to be taxing, and one day performances are plenty taxing.  London ran into huge problems without doing 9 or 10 performances a week. Even three alternates may not be enough.  You’d almost need two set casts to up the number of performances!  That said, I wonder how many performances are done on the cruise ship...
