I could be crazy but the Arthur in the artwork kind of looks like Keegan-Michael Key to me. He fits the criteria of background in comedy, has appeared on Broadway and he also was in The Prom film where he showed off some of his singing ability. And Schmigadoon too.

right but CFY was only happening because Josh was attached. I know they can find someone last minute who can direct/choreo but the fact is, design choices and decisions were already months in the making, set construction nearly finished etc. So whose production is it considered now?"
Perhaps he has an assistant who will stage the show per his instruction, and Rhodes will come in to do final tweaks and set the production. It will be up to Asolo Rep, because the options are to accomodate SPAMALOT'S Broadway schedule or hire another director. They are a regional theatre.
“I knew who I was this morning, but I've changed a few times since then.”
Other than the rumors, is it stated anywhere this s a limited run?
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Geez -- luckily no one is FORCING you to buy a ticket. Also, it closed on Broadway in 2009 and hasn't been seen in NYC since -- so no, it hasn't been "done to death" for NYC locals.

James is the lead in "A Wonderful World" which is playing in Chicago until October 29th, he is absolutely not transferring to Broadway in this barring some change to that production's out-of-town schedule.
Sorry, dude -- but "close" only counts in horse shoes (and hand grenades).

I am curious about that "limited run," too. I don't know the protocol for announcing limited runs, but wouldn't that fact be disclosed in the original announcement of a show opening? I realize shows sell tickets for blocks of time, and may close when the producers deem so, but wouldn't announcing a limited run influence ticket buyers to not put off buying tickets, especially during a busy holiday season?

They might have just not had the chance to update the artwork yet? Maybe waiting for casting to finalize or something. Appears to be the same artwork from the Kennedy Center run."
It's not the same artwork from Kennedy Center, similar yes, but it's re-drawn with slightly different style and added characters. Kennedy Center used the original Broadway artwork."
This is a press release about the Broadway revival, it makes sense to use the new one. But during the DC run, it's 100% the original Broadway version. I was there. Go find the original show page and their B-roll videos, you can still see it.
So with Urie and Rodriguez Kritzer continuing with the project, I think that means the roles that are to be announced are Arthur, Patsy, Lancelot, Herbert and Galahad. I think we're likely to see a broadway baritone type for Galahad (Jordan Donica maybe?) and Herbert is not QUITE a showy enough track to attract a name - those are also the two roles written most for people who are Musical Theater performers FIRST and Comedy actors Second. I think that Keegan Michael Key would be a great fit for Arthur, and I love the idea of Nick Kroll, Donald Glover or James Marsden (who is having a bit of a moment thanks to Jury Duty) as Lancelot. Like, if you REALLY want to shell out for some names, I could see this being the kind of project Chris Evans or Tom Holland could be lured to during a hollywood shutdown which would be, if nothing else, hysterical to watch.

A few things to consider -
The Herbert track earned a Drama Desk nomination for Christian Borle, so that role could certainly attract a Star
I don't think anyone has confirmed that Urie and Kritzer are set -- it was just another rumor
If Jordan Donica is cast, chances are that most people will never see him -- his attendance record to date (going back to My Fair Lady) is astonishingly bad.
EDITED: Borle was nominated for a Drama Desk -- not a Tony.

There were a few new jokes and a lot of ad-libbing
I think there will absolutely be book revisions before this revival starts (there are a lot of references to musicals that were happening around 2005 that could stand to be updated)
I don't think anyone has confirmed that Urie and Kritzer are set -- it was just another rumor
Michael Urie was just confirmed to star in the American premiere of The Da Vinci Code in Maine, which is scheduled to run from August through late September (a show that itself could have Broadway ambitions) so even having history with the production it might be a tall order to expect him to do two big shows back-to-back.
Hannah Waddingham would be amazing. I do hope there's a name or three in this...I love Spamalot, but I saw the original and don't need a carbon copy without some exciting people in it.
Was the Britney Spears line changed in Diva’s Lament? Wasn’t that joke in place because she was rumored to replace in Sweet Charity at the time? I know it’s a different name on the UK cast album but I can’t remember who.
