I saw a bowdlerized, almost certainly unsanctioned all female middle school production in which the entire set was a plastic Little Tikes Castle that was moved around the stage and rotated and such. Now imagine that same castle with six grown men.
All major roles listed. Interestingly Sir Galahad and Patsy are the only roles listed as already being cast."
The casting notice on Equity’s website only has Arthur and Lancelot open. The rest say “This Role Is Cast.”"
I am sure that offers have been going out left and right to various stars. They required to have an AEA open call per union rules, but there is no way any of those roles are actually open.
Hoping a great cast can make up for the weak direction at Kennedy Center. Surprised this is transferring - as the weakest of the Kennedy Center series last year.
How about Hugh Grant as Arthur, Rob Brydon as Sir Robin, and Marla Mindelle as the Lady of the Lake? But in my other idea of a pared-down, scrappier production (directed by Terry Johnson? Darko Tresnjak?)
Just askin! Anyone see a limited engagement of Timothee Chalamet in this. I know he's playing Dylan in a film whenever Hollywood execs stop trying to starve out The writers guild and SAG Aftra members, and had two films coming out hopefully later this year. But he looks and sounds great in the Wonka trailer.
I think someone mentioned Tom Holland or Chris Evans being great in this. Would love to see either on stage. But would hate to see the craziness of that stage door.

But I wonder, is the revival too soon? Without big stars attached to it, I'm not sure it will find it's audience. I hope I am wrong."
Especially since it's been done everywhere. And if this is more or less a replica of the original, who's going to see this? They definitely need a name or two to draw people back to seeing it.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Ah yes, the perfect fit for Spamalot: famed comedian Timothée Chalamet. Will he have to audition, or, like Wonka, will the team just watch his high school rap videos to make sure he’s up to the task?
For real though, no A-listers will be wanting to make their Broadway debut in a near-replica revival of Spamalot. Maybe a well known comedian or two if we’re lucky, but no megawatt stars will want a part of this.

They should have announced the cast already, not the day after the pre-sale on the 8th. I think this is a case of creatives over-estimating interest in their intellectual property. Perhaps I will be proven wrong.
I saw some footage from the Chicago production of Tommy, and personally I'd probably be more interested in seeing that revival hit Broadway.

Man, they've got to lock down their info better if everyone and their mother is leaking stuff from this show"
Leaking stuff? Not one hint of if who's doing this has been leaked. We just know JME isn't doing it.

Surprised it's transferring with Rhodes at the helm tbh
There are like 3 other people called Voter on here, FYI.

I'm wondering if there is a method to their madness. Reasonably priced presale tickets, then announce the cast and up go the prices?
I don't see how their going to fill the St. James with no "star" names in the cast, but I suppose time will tell.
I would imagine there's no HUGE names or else that would be announced beforehand? Why wait and then raise tickets? That doesn't make sense producing wise. And the fact that it's still Rhodes means it is likely just a carbon copy and nothing new. Sounds like they just want to fill that barn during the holidays.
