Is Sing Street ever going to come back to Broadway? Or will it join a unique number of shows that went into a theater but never opened (referring to pre-pandy). Curious if anyone has heard anything after the regional production. It seems it's going to have to cut in line in front of some of these other shows if it does want a theater. Is it coming or is it DOA?

I was wondering the same thing. I had assumed it would reclaim The Lyceum but apparently not. I can recall at least two other shows whose marquees went up but never went into previews--BUSKERS and, in the early 70s, SMITH. Those two didn't have a pandemic to deal with, though.

Saw it in Boston and loved it but since most of the new shows are struggling, I find it hard to believe this will come in any time soon. I think it could get another regional production and/or be licensed and fairly popular amongst younger theater groups (albeit with a few tweaking).
More recently, Rebecca had their Broadway marquee up and never played a single preview.
Last I heard, Broadway plans had been abandoned. It's not coming.
I had heard they were interested in the Jacobs but so were a few different shows.

Yep, me too. I do hope Sing Street does make its way to Broadway or maybe even off Broadway, I really enjoyed the cast recording and would love to see the show.

Not sure how to link it, but the official Instagram account posted something this morning. News expected 9/10…I guess something is happening in London.
I loved this production at NYTW and in Boston. Was hoping it would make its way back to NYC…
I feel that a London run would help build up momentum for the show again and give the creative team the chance to rework the show again and build up an audience.
In 2019 the show felt like something you'd see at a community theatre or fringe fest. Not Broadway ready.

I disagree. The show itself is not meant to be a spectacular. It's a group of ragtag kids creating music together. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I enjoyed what I saw downtown. I suspect this show could do well in schools, so they'd want it to be on Broadway to get its name out their for licensing and name recognition. I wish them luck.

I thought this footage from the Boston production looks great.
Sing Street is one of my favorite movies, I'm really hoping this show makes it to Broadway sooner rather than later.
Now it’s been announced: Sing Street will be coming to London next summer.

Glad to see this show has some life. It definitely needed some work in Boston but overall was a solid night at the theater. I know it's unlikely but I would love to see Courtnee Carter continue with the show. Her performance (that voice!) was excellent.
The Boston production was very polished, and I thought Dónal Finn was exceptional as Conor, the older brother.
I really enjoyed it in Boston, too. Glad to see it lives on!
