Norbert gives a big performance but I couldn’t get past how bad his accent was.

Doesn't look like any original musical other than The Band's Visit will win an award tonight
The Tony Awards have never been about the true best of the season.
As shown by Passing Strange's fate. And the fate of MANY other shows.
The voters have their heads too far up their rectums and it's all politics. It's rarely the best of a season that gets recognized. Spongebob is getting snubbed because the Tony Voters are too pretentious for it.
There need to be more voters under the age of 60 who actually reflect the diversity of Broadway and who actually reflect Broadway audiences.
I'm happy that the Drama Desk awards rewarded Spongebob, a awards show that actually reflects the community.

True, although the accent did improve from early previews.
4 TONY WINS for Band's Visit already!

He may have improved since I saw him in previews, but I thought Norbert was weak in Act I and was really great in Act II. I thought Jordan Donica gave a better performance actually, which I know most people won't agree with me about.
I saw him a few days after opening.

I bet you Spongebob would have lost most of its Drama Desk Awards had it been up against The Band's Visit.

Now Spongebob knows how Natasha and Pierre felt last year...
End the show now because you just can’t top that. God bless those young people. How special!
I'm not crying, you're crying.

Trust me its not the best number. I don't know why they picked it.

That performance from the Parkland students was absolutely phenomenal!!!!!!! Moved me to tears.
Okay this is the best Tony Awards ever just for that performance.

The Band's Visit has plenty of diversity. So did the audience when I saw it. Maybe you should see that instead of seeing SpongeBob, a child's show, eight times a week.
The Tony Awards reflect brilliance. The Bands Visit is brilliant.
May I just say Josh and Sara are killing it tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's hasn't been about the arts for many many many years and it's sad.
"The Band's Visit" awards are well earned. Get Over It.
Satchel's award is so deserved.
On a side note both his acceptance speech and the entire Parkland performance brought me to tears

Right now I am so proud to have been a high school drama director. If my former students turned out to be anything like those kids from Parkland, I will have made a decent contribution to our world

I think the future of theater is in good hands with young people like that.
