It should've been Grey Gardens.

Yep, he said "Audrey"---- he must have been in the theatre Friday night, Jordan.... everyone in the audience was calling her Audrey !!!
Happy for CE as well ! She deserved it.
I thought for a split second that Audra was going to win it---
I had this feeling come over me after it seemed like the audience cheered louder for her than Christine when the nominees were announced.

Anddddd no one is surprised. I love that they can fill the entire stage with their legions of producers.

This is a little late, but I adored DHP's speech.
And Congrats Spring Awakening!
Now, I'm off to bed because I have school tomorrow.

Did the producer just call Spring Awakening a phenomenon? Really? It's not as if musicals never rocked before, and rock is so easy to translate on stage considering that's where they originated.
The makers of Spring Awakening sound like a bunch of dorks who think they all of sudden became the cool kids.

And the navigators and their mappy maps
And moldy heads and pissing on sugar cubes

Now that this is over, I can share that from 9p to 10p ET a LOT of the people backstage at RCMH were watching the last episode of "The Sopranos". That says a lot, doesn't it?

A phenomenon? Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, et cetera, are bonafide phenomenons.
Spring Awakening just started getting close to the general 80-90% seats filled area.

It saddens me to think Spring Awakening won as many awards as Sweeney Todd did in 1979.

What was with all that shameless self-indulgence of Ben Vereen and Usher, especially what Ben Vereen said about Usher taking the time out of his schedule "watching his basketball team play to be there tonight!"
It makes everyone else seem so insignificant. And after they announced that they were each other's "godson" and "godfather" 50 times I think we got the picture!!!!!!

It's awful that I can't fully enjoy Spring Awakening winning because of how PISSED I am about Raul Esparza losing. And the look on his face when it happened was just heartbreaking...

- I ABSOLUTELY agree. I am not a RENT fan. But JESUS. I'll say it again. Rent did the SAME exact thing 11 years ago. SA isn't that frickin' original. They make it sound like they are the first modern rock musical.

As much as I would have been thrilled for GG if it had won, I'm glad Spring Awakening has cleaned house. And I'm even more grateful that we've had two amazing original musicals intorduced this year.
Then again, ANYTHING would have been better than last year...

MY MOST RANDOM AN CRAZY THOUGHTS WHILE WATCHING THE BROADCAST:
1) Idina Menzel looks incredibly unhappy to be here.
2) Groff and Gallagher both seem to have brought their mothers . . . I wonder what Julie White would say to that.
3) JULIE WHITE IS AMAZING!
4) Raul Esparza seems a bit drunk . . . I'm sure it's just me.
5) I love DHP, but his Curtains performance was completely wooden and this makes me ANGRY.
6) The new Spring Awakening lyrics are the funniest thing ever . . . maybe I'm just sleep-deprived.
7) I have to check BWW.com before I go to bed.

I chose, and my world was shaken. So what?
The choice may have been mistaken. The choosing was not.
