What is weird about it? Movies change release dates all of the time, especially this fare in advance. They don’t want to compete with, what will most definitely, be a four quadrant hit with Avatar 3.

Then again, we still have yet to see a theatrically released movie musical do well at the box office in a post-COVID world. In the Heights, Dear Evan Hansen, West Side Story, and Cyrano all flopped. Granted, each of those were released before the movie theater business was eventually fully restored. At the same time, it probably is a better idea to have Wicked: Part One out before Avatar 3 (potentially) dominates the box office.

Can I just say that I've had enought of these click-bate news bulletins popping up? Yes, while a picture of the trailers, or sky, or whatever are technically "pictures from the set", they are not the pictures from the set I want.

Chu confirmed via Twitter back in December that the character will be included but that they weren’t announcing casting yet.

I heard a TERRIFYING rumor that Dillamond will be played by Idina Menzel. It's so absurd and wrong I almost believe it. I am hoping it is not true.

And I’ve heard it’s Beanie Feldstein… 

This won’t happen. It’s likely a very minimum role in the 2 films.

Not that I want this to be case at all, but I'm sure I've seen something worse. It's also 99.99% likely not true, so there's that.

I always figured Lin would be Dillamond. He and Chu are past collaborators and, in my opinion, it would actually be a good role for him. But maybe the delay implies someone bigger and/or less obvious. I have also heard the Idina rumor, but that would be so weird.

You obviously haven’t seen the physical shape Liza is in. I’m baffled how many people still think she’s in her Sally Bowles era unaware of her physical and vocal limitations she’s dealing with now.
