Lolol cause you can tell that from a dark, distant photo."
Are those even photos? They look more like concept art to me.

Just zoomed in real close on my Mac monitor and these are indeed photos. I also thought they looked like conceptual drawings.

The Elphaba in the photo of Cynthia reminded me of the Elphaba on the original cover of the Wicked novel

Movies are produced with 3D ticket sales in mind. Is the camera going to be loop-de-looping around Elphaba until we get nauseous?"
maybe in 2012

Ugh, I get that these are just promo photos, but why are filmmakers these days so obsessed with making everything dark and grim with the lighting? I hope the actual movies don’t look like that.
Now with the Glinda picture, I wonder if that’s supposed to be her “Glinda the Good” dress, or if that’s Galinda’s “Popular” dress, and the movie is going for a more “prom ballgown” look instead of the “homecoming dance” vibe with the stage version.

^ With all due respect, dark fits well with the tone of the story. But what matters is the performances deliver as well as some spare visual splendor.

Why would that be her popular dress ? She has the grimerie in her hand

Thinking the picture of Glinda is right after Elphaba "melts". Looks like Ariana's crying in it. And the Elphaba photo, I'm assuming is Defying Gravity. These shots are GORGEOUS!

She simply tells her to “hide” those are a lot of steps to go back and fourth during the melting. Who knows? We will find out in 2024. Maybe they switched it around and this is right before For Good. Does look like the castle.

I didn't think we'd get to see anything like this so soon! Far away as they are. I think they look great, they are getting me excited! I just wonder why Glinda doesn't look like an official Good Witch here though. I would have thought she'd look more...dressed for being a magical leader than looking like she's going for an evening out. Maybe she's not in full costume.

Jon Chu has replied to multiple people on Twitter saying the film isn’t going to be that dark and they haven’t started colour correcting yet.

It’s also very possible that these are promotional/hype shots from production but not stills from the actual film. The Elphaba one is harkening back to the cover art of the first two books and they’re definitely in Kiamo Ko. To those speaking to Ariana’s dress, there’s no doubt going to be multiple costumes so I wouldn’t read too much into it just yet.

I doubt it not that it will look beautiful onscreen. I don’t even like all gloomy. I just love a spectacle with a compelling story.

I would say it’s likely Glinda will not be wearing the same dress in For Good and the finale as there’s definitely a little bit of time passing there. Maybe she wears this dress for for good and then is full “Glinda the Good” for finale. Maybe they go more with the pink Wizard of Oz movie Glinda look rather than the blue

Some very colorful new photos of Ariana as Glinda.

You can see the inspiration from Billy Burke's Glinda in Ariana's.

I love Ariana’s new dress! The final verdict will be hitting the high notes

Wow! Who is taking and releasing these photos? I wonder if this is production's way of trying to get people who are complaining about the darkness of the photos from yesterday to shut up, because those photos on set are certainly as bright and colorful as you can get.

They're filming outdoors, it's unavoidable. Likely the reason they released those still yesterday.

Ahhhh - what a queen. I am already so excited about this. From what I’ve seen so far (which is, admittedly, not a ton of material), Jon’s vision for this adaptation is spot on.

Found another shot; overheard of them filming her entrance/No One Mourns.

I hope Erivo gets to keep that early 20th century style propaganda poster.
