Putting that aside for now, a new video has been released about Paul Tazewell and his ideas for the costumes of the movie. It's ironic that he would work on Wicked when he also did the costumes for The Wiz Live.

I don’t think it was color purple. It was more what she was saying during great comet

Yeah, her outrage pretty much lead to the near immediate closure of the show. She lost the respect and support of many in the community over her response. It seems it is one knee jerk reaction after another with her. She is wonderfully talented, but fantastically insufferable.
Can’t imagine Marc Platt is exactly cheering her on from the sidelines over this poster thing. They all probably wish she’d just “chill” as Chris Petersen put it.
Was talking with friends and we agreed that this feels like an attention getting things. Grande hosted,a very good SNL show. Just funny this all happened after that. JMO
she chose to sing right down the barrel of the camera to us, the viewers
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

"How so?"
Because I don't think anyone would've expected him to work on two different Oz adaptations in his career. Which is pretty cool to think about because his designs for both are unique to each other.

It is not about her, not about her work and not about making things better or about replacing something officially in general. It's about a fan having fun connecting the poster to the broadway show, random fan art.
This is a much bigger problem in Erivo herself. I think she shouldn't have the position that she has. This is not the first time she does things like this. I haven't forgotten about her attack and public hate campaign against a random girl on twitter who posted a "fan fiction live-action Hercules dream cast", including her, but not in the role Erivo preferred. And the public campaign against the producers of the Great Comet, when they were looking for a big name to replace Josh Groban, and had asked Mandy Patinkin to step in, but that wasn't to Erivo's liking because she wanted Okieriete Onaodowan to get the role after he had been stepping in. She organized a campaign on social media to attack the producers of the show, calling it racism, it blew up enormously which forced a hastened closing of the show. Completely failing to realize that this was not about race or about her at all.
I was very surprised that she was able to get the role in Wicked after that. To say the least.

It’s weird because to some, she’s a social justice warrior and to others, she ungrateful and full of herself. Feels similar to Rachel Zegler’s juxtaposition. When selling a project like Wicked, which has a lot riding on it, perhaps she should let someone else run her social media.

Erivo is very self-aware and based on her past stances anyone she brings onto her team (publicist, agent, etc) is made fully aware of what they will be dealing with. She’s definitely in a position to not have to get notes on her social media behavior, which the average artist has to deal with whenever they post anything that stirs the pot and which prompts those post deletes and those apologies afterwards with this standard “I will do better.” You will never see any of this from Erivo.

I completely agree with the gist of your argument, but this isn't exactly how things happened. Onoadowan had already been playing the role full-time; due to lagging sales, he was going to be sidelined before his contract was up so that Patinkin could take over.

She does have someone that runs her social media. However, that doesn't preclude her from taking matters into her own hands and making poor decisions. Wouldn't be the first celeb to do such a thing. It's her life/career to misstep with and all that.
If I recall, the main issue was that Onoadowan was not at all suited to the role and there were issues in rehearsal and performance. That coupled with the lack of sales is what caused the producers to cut him loose (the producers on Comet were grasping at straws after Groban left- they also essentially forced Brittain Ashford onto vacation leave to bring in Ingrid Michaelson). although Erivo unnecessarily inserted herself into the situation, I think her impact on Comet’s closure is overstated.

this also isnt exactly how things happened
onoadowan was to be given a paid leave while patinkin stepped in for a few weeks
he was never going to stay longer as he had a tv series to head back to film
okieriete also was not performing the role of pierre as directed and had not learned most or all of the piano and accordion material attached to the role
cynthia erivo did not bother to learn any of this information when she launched her cancel comet campaign
her reaction to this wicked fan art is therefore not surprising as she seems to have contempt for the very people who have supported her career
the genesis of the fan art is obvious to anyone without confirmation bias and this so-called controversy just exposes erivo as a walking outrage machine
Also, ALL contracts have clauses to protect producers. This allows them to fire or replace anyone they don’t see as a good fit for their needs - even if an artist signed a long term contract. This clause prevents artist suing producers for being fired, replaced suddenly, etc. Ethics are a sidebar when it comes to business and life isn’t always fair. High profile artists wisely add clauses to their contracts to protect themselves also, so it can go both ways.

I also remember that Patinkin thanked for the honor and turned down the role because of this unjustly, misplaced race-war campaign led by Erivo. He even put out a statement that he couldn't do this because of that.
I have never been a fan of Erivo and feared from the beginning she would be a distraction for the movie and make me really not like her in it. She has already started down that yellow brick road for me.

all of this is true
there were two main issues
the producers cluelessly considered Onoadawan a star name similar to Josh Groban but hit the wall of reality when ticket sales fell off a cliff following Grobans final performance date
and secondly Okieriete blew off things like costume fittings and music rehearsals resulting in his final rehearsal being a total disaster and delaying his debut

it was additive and contributed to the cancel culture
Erivo was the one who injected race into the whole mess because the person they desperately turned to (Patinkin) happened to be white just like Groban
i think the two words Erivo and unnecessarily are key because that is what is happening here with what should otherwise have been a benign piece of fan art
the level of outrage simply does not match the alleged crime here
I can understand being annoyed/bothered by the AI video showing Cynthia and Ariana physically fighting, but the fan-made poster edit was so benign. I could understand speaking out against the AI video but not punching down at a fan who had some fun in photoshop. If the person who made the poster can be located, Erivo should really apologize to them. I can't fathom being a fan and then the movie's star attacks you out of the blue for no good reason. However bad Cynthia felt seeing that edit, I'm sure it was a lot worse for the person whose work got millions of views bc Cynthia publicly hated on it. I'd imagine that would completely ruin the experience of the film for someone who is clearly a big fan of Wicked.
