I'm so so thrilled. I loved this show in Chicago! Wonder if Donna decided not to do it. There was that rumor she going to do it on Broadway

This gets a simple, "Yas." from me.
But I sure hope they keep the ending.

So exciting! The NY Times article says they are revising the show, which is encouraging.

Where did the rumor about Donna come from? It never seemed reliable to me.

It came from conjecture. There was never any reliable or official information that should've lead anybody to believe Murphy was taking over the role.

It came from me, which I know is not really anything, but the person I heard it from was reliable enough to me. They knew people with the show.
i guess that was just miscommunicated or just was never true.

Yes! I really enjoyed this in Chicago, but knowing how much constructive work happened on GREY GARDENS before the Broadway opening, I'm really looking forward to seeing what shape this is given. So much potential and some beautiful stuff in there.

The Donna rumor never made sense to me. Especially because Christine not only nails her role, but she looks JUST like Ms. Arden, so much that it's uncanny. She's so lovely. Donna also isn't really the same type as Christine at all. Her and Patti seem much more like the same type. Plus, two of the same types as leads often doesn't work.

the best part of the show when i saw it was the fantastic singing by both Patti and Christine. that is reason enough for them both to go to broadway

This is proving to be one of the more fruitful and interesting seasons for new musicals in quite some time. So excited I'll be seeing Midler, LuPone, and Ebersole in one trip!

I wonder if Patti Cohenour will still be Ebersole's standby, because I can only see an aggressive anti-vaxxer once before feeling like I've betrayed my morals.

Excited for this and most likely will see it a few times.
2017 is turning out quite nicely. Thanks, Broadway!

Legit on a bus to DC and screamed and everyone looked at me, but I don't care.
Excited doesn't capture what I feel! #hyped

I hope they put a lot of work into it. I can't even recall most of the show now other than the song Pink and a few visuals.

I think the Tony is still Bette's. But the nominations will be insane.

And we haven't even seen Bette Midler in Hello, Dolly! yet.

I agree. She'd have to be pretty terrible in the role to NOT win it. Which won't happen.
