After listening to the London recording of "Dreamgirls" they'd be smart to ditch it all and start from scratch.

Moulin Rouge isn't coming until next Fall. It's taking the Hirschfeld and reworking the inside of the theater. Company appears to be aiming for next Fall as well with LuPone extending in London until March 30. Hadestown & Girl From the North Country seem like the only locks to be coming in for the Spring. Jagged Little Pill probably depends on theater availability & how the December lab goes.

So, no announcement for Nerds, Rebecca or The Nutty Professor?

Pretty sure we're not seeing Jagged Little Pill this season.

The last I heard Hadestown was in talks with the Shuberts, but that information is from January so things could have changed -

Williams will continue in an engagement through June 2, 2019.
Unless something happens, Hadestown may not take CITS, which they've been reworking configuration-wise, anyway.

Remember when someone on here was saying that LND was coming to the Marquis this fall for a limited engagement with most of the tour cast, and that an announcement was being planned for the week before the Tonys?

I'm still scratching my head at everyone who assumes that the Longacre will be available because The Prom is going to bomb. It's been open for a mere two (three?) previews, and has gotten overwhelmingly positive unofficial buzz so far. I get that there's no celeb attached, but what on earth am I missing that so many people have it closing so fast? Personally I can't wait to see it. I really, really hope that it proves everyone wrong.
FWIW, no one outside of people who follow theatre had heard of Come From Away before it opened, and it's doing great entirely because of positive word-of-mouth. People need a feel-good break these days.
Back on topic, I'm personally hoping for both Hadestown and Girl From the North Country this season.

People are saying it’s going to flop because it’s barley selling tickets. If you look at the seating charts for november/ december you will see that basically the whole mez and balcony are empty.

Posted: 10/25/18 at 5:45pmHas anyone heard anything about The Inheritance transferring? It is getting overwhelming positive reviews in the West End and a few of my friends saw it and are raving about it. Sonia Friedman is behind it so I could see it coming over. Maybe as early as this spring because it closes in the West End in January. Thoughts?

I'm certain we'll see it in NYC, but since Sonia Friedman is also behind this year's big London-to-Broadway transfer, The Ferryman, they'd be smart to wait til the 19-20 season. (And there seem to be no theatres available.) I do wonder if they'll recast with American actors, like Curious Incident and Network (or John Benjamin Hickey and Vanessa Redgrave + new actors) since it's by an American playwright about America.
If for some reason the London production doesn't transfer, I'm sure one of the Off-Broadway non-profits would jump at the chance to produce it. Or Hartford Stage, which commissioned it.

Posted: 10/26/18 at 2:09pmIf Hadestown is looking for this spring, the theatre that could be available if the Broadhurst. May work well with the stage in there. If not I'd love for it to wait until next season and play The Booth

I'm sure both The Park Avenue Armory and St. Ann's have already inquired about producing it, as it is directly in line with what they love to present. If Sonia Friedman doesn't want to commit to Broadway, they will be a huge hit in a few places.

Reasonably sure that Circle in the Square is no option for Hadestown...I just saw the set backstage at the National Theatre in London and it's massive....a behemoth. meant for a proscenium (or thrust as the National's Olivier is).
Also - I have tickets for January in London...just sayin'

I saw Oklahoma at St. Ann's last night and I'm confident it's going to take CITS. Maybe not this season but definitely after OOTI closes.

I can't see it ever transferring to Broadway. I loved it, but it wouldn't be the same. The St. Ann's experience is a big part of what makes it so special, and I think it would lose a lot in a mainstream venue.

I'm fairly certain that Circle in the Square can be converted to a thrust. Didn't they have one for Spelling Bee?

I've also heard reports that the Hadestown set is absolutely massive at the National and that it's definitely being designed for a more traditional space. I don't think it'll go into CITS.
However, what's the deal with Yiddish Fiddler? They were attempting a transfer and if they got a star for Tevye (like Mandy Patinkin maybe) they could probably do really well as a limited run in CITS. That space would fit the more intimate nature of that production.
Also, I looooved this production of Oklahoma! and my fingers are crossed for a cast album, but I'm not sure how it would play on Broadway. Maybe they could rent out a theatre and build the wooden box onstage and literally just build the playing space onto the stage. Like a theatre within a theatre. I just feel like it would be challenging, even at CITS because Broadway doesn't have any flexible theatre spaces. It might also just be too experimental for some Broadway audiences, which is a shame.

Last I heard anything about Fiddler was back in Sept saying there was interest in a life past the museum, either a long term off B'way or on Bway, and that they'd be making their decision in Oct - I thought they said early Oct, but don't really remember. Since then, they have extended again by several weeks.
As far as Hadestown, I just want it to get announced, I'm dying to finally see it!
