I could have chosen from Mark, Roger, Angel, Collins, Mimi, or Benny. I had to go to four stores before I finally found the soundtrack at Barnes and Noble.
I was torn between Roger and Mark. I think I like the Roger picture better, but I bought Mark just for the memories of Anthony and all his help on this site. YAY Anthony! It IS a nice picture though.... so I let my friend get Roger.

The theatre is one of the most expressive and useful instruments for the edification of a country; it is also the barometer which makes its greatness or its descent. A theatre which is sensitive and well oriented in all its branches from tragedy to vaudeville can in a few years change the sensibilty of the people; theatre which has been destroyed, in which cloven hooves take the place of wings, can put to sleep an entire nation. A people that does not aid and encourage its theatre is moribund if not dead; the theatre which does not gather to itself the best of society, of history, the drama of its people and the genuine color of its landscape and its spirit, with laughter or tears, does not deserve to call itself theatre, but rather a place for that horrible thing which is called killing time.- Federico Garcia Lorca
i'm getting mark. On a side note does anyone else think that the benny cover is sorta a tease to those not "in the know", since the cover would make one assume taye had a bigger part on the cd (the poor guy doesn't even get a "love heals" segment (i'm pretty sure anthony does a little bit near the end)).
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
Oy. Last night we went to the Virgin Megastore at midnight to get it...they didn't get it in there. So, this afternoon I try my luck at store #2...Strawberries. I get there, they've got Mark and Roger. I really wanted Maureen so I got back in the car and went to Best Buy. Best Buy had everyone...except Maureen. So, I walked through the mall to FYE the check what they had...they hadn't received them yet. So I went back to Best Buy and got Mark. My friends are going to keep their eyes open for a Maureen for me, and someone will switch covers.
:)
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

jonartdesigns , thats why i always laugh at the trailer when it says "8 friends"
as far as stores missing characters, i wonder if they marketed this correctly, if we could have picked individaully online it would have saved us (the actual consumers) a lot of hassle, a lot of stores i went to during my search (i shouldn't have had to search) didnt even know this was released today, let alone if they had it
by the time i got to work at 4, they were down to a few Joanne, a few Angel, i think Collins, a Benny, and 2 Mimi's. i spent some time deciding which, then stole a Mimi and kept it under the box i was working with so no one would grab it before the end of my shift.
Question: What do the Maureen and Joanne covers look like, since they are together on the CD cover.
Also, Doesn't Tracy Thoms like a little bit like Wanda Sykes on the cover.
Oh and BTW, I noticed that Rosario's name was first in cast credits and I thought it was kinda a cop-out that they gave her top billing, but then I realized it was in alphabetical order, but it did look like they put the bigger names at the top(Taye Diggs was #2). Anyways, I guess it worked out well for them since they probably wanted to put her first anyways.
I drove a collective almost 5 hours today to find one period...I was NOT picky. For some reason, the ONLY store to get them down here today was, of ALL things, Barnes and Noble...the last place i planned on going.
Anyway, I got Mark and my girlfriend got Mimi, the ones we wanted. There was ONE of each left when I got there except for Maureen and Joanne.
Well, unfortunately, they didn't have Maureen when I went b/c she is who I originally wanted but I didn't want to wait to get the soundtrack so I decided to get Mark and I must say that I am pleased w/ my decision!

I went to Tower Records on 4th Street in NYC yesterday morning and they didn't have them out yet. I heard that they were selling them for real cheap so I wanted to go there, first. When they weren't available I went to Virgin on Union Square and like the poster above said, they had all the covers.
I bought my boy, Collins. Very happy. Not only is he my favorite character, but purple is my favorite color. So, the best of both worlds.
I got Angel for my best friend, but shhhh! She doesn't know. I'm giving it to her as a present on Friday. She thinks I'm going to take her to go buy her copy, but I already have it! Whee.
Oh, and I agree with whoever it was that said Wilson doesn't look nice in that picture. I think that picture is terrible. He's so pretty in other photos, but I think they should've given him a different pose and at LEAST put him in the Santa outfit for the cover and the poster. Ahwell. Updated On: 9/28/05 at 07:34 AM
I had a ridiculously hard time choosing between Roger and Maureen. My friend put them behind her back and had me choose one. It was Maureen. I'm pretty happy with my choice. I hate that picture of Adam, anyways. But it's Adam... Anyways, I got Idina.
