If the prior rumor is true, Giamatti would be perfect! With that said, I’m having difficulty thinking of a perfect Louise.

I am hearing it will be The Majestic. I heard Stranger Things was looking at the Broadhurst. The Broadhurst goes dark next month so more than enough time to get GYPSY in there. But also, renovations are about done at the Majestic and if they want something big to re-open it, this would be it!
Also, that sign sits in-between the two theaters. I runs ads but it has run ads for A Beautiful Noise and Some Like it Hot with an arrow at the bottom pointing towards the theaters' box offices if I remember correctly.
Also, Jordan, the Broadhurst has a digital sign up above the marquee.

Broadhurst has Buena Vista Social Club for the fall, and Stranger Things Part 1 is going to the Marquis next spring.

Has anyone addressed that she has completely the wrong voice range for this part? Mama Rose is not a soprano. And even if she can sing alto, Audra cannot belt like this score would need her to.
But they let Patti lupone scream her way through this show in 2008 so I guess they don’t care.
