My prediction is that this film won't be panned, but it also won't receive a single Academy nod in acting/directing categories. MAYBE a Golden Globe nom for Ben.
I didn't realize the technology they use for those animatronic presidents at Disney World had matured to the point where one could star in a feature film. This is amazing.
After watching the trailer, this doesn't look to bad at all. I think it might be a good movie musical that people would enjoy watching; but will it be as good as In The Heights and West Side Story? No, but it doesn't have to be. Also I agree 100%, Ben Platt's wig is very very silly.

I was trying to find him and Demarius Copes in the trailer, but couldn’t. Was it just a blink and you’d miss it moment?
Also, does anyone know if they just used the Broadway cast recording “You Will Be Found” for the trailer? It really doesn’t sound any different.

It looks exactly like how I thought it would when I imagined what a DEH movie could look like (for better or for worse).
I, too, was on the not Ben Platt for Evan train, but I think after watching the trailer it makes a little more sense, even if he looks a little unnerving.
The part was written for Ben and with his deep history and understanding of the character will bring out something I don't think any other actor would be able to.
Not sure why I'm surprised they kept the exact same blue shirt. I was hoping for something slightly different to maybe differentiate it a bit.
But anyway, great trailer if it wasn't for the de-aging CGI and weird wig.

They both have bit parts, I didn't even notice Isaac until I watched it again. He's the dude who puts his hand on Ben's shoulder in the hall for less than a second.
My major complaint is that Platt looks nothing close to a teenager in this.

EDIT: I was looking at the "Top" tweets after searching Platt's name"

The Golden Globes aren’t happening next year and probably won’t ever happen again....
Not gonna lie...the trailer gave me flashbacks to when they cast John Lloyd Young as Frankie Vali in the jersey boys movie almost 10 years after originating the role. That movie didn’t exactly work out as planned...but I’m staying optimistic for this one, despite the obvious age issue.
What de-aging CGI are people seeing that I’m not? He actually looks older than I was expecting, but I’m fine with it. I think he’s made up to look paler than he actually is, but Evan isn’t exactly supposed to look like the picture of health and youthful vitality.
