I definitely see where you're coming from, ColorTheHours. I just wish everyone who wanted tickets could time could have gotten some. I know that isn't realistic though. I'm going to remain hopeful that they held back some from this time block for the future releases that they're planning before previews. I doubt they'd want to release Nov 2018 - onwards before the Tony Awards, so I think that's what's happening here.
And I'm guessing some of the better seats are still to be released.
Their algorithm clearly allowed them to modify ticket prices based on demand while tickets were being sold today. It's why the 'search' options were so limited - one day with one price category, but no additional selection criteria, no ranges of dates, and no selecting specific seats. It's the only way to explain the various prices within the same sections. I have no doubt that the next round of tickets will be released at much higher prices.

What a stressful time. I was also on standby and received a code by text at 3:57pm (no email that I can find). I was at a work event and my phone was about to die. I had my laptop but there was no wifi in the place! Fortunately they had a community computer room so I jumped on one, loaded up the page...clicked and clicked on various yellow dates, but already too late. I found a random Wednesday (October 24) that was still green and got two dress circle tickets for the two performances. Now, knowing that tickets can be returned, I'm thinking I'll check the next round of sales as I literally purchased in a panic and would prefer cheaper tickets at another time.
After being close to giving up I did get tickets. I was in a 11 and of course there was the price issue with the dates I needed. Luckily I saw the fixed it and hopped on April 7 and got 5 tix Center Balcony Row C for $120 + TM Fees $260.20 per ticket set ($130.10 a part).
Yeah $120 for balcony. Their pricing is all over the place, but hey I got them.

Yeah I’m with you here. If someone is willing to pay 10x the face value I’dbe real tempted to sell"

So sorry to hear so many disappointed fans on this thread. I guess I should feel fortunate. I was on standby and got my access code at 2:17 PM. I was looking for $20 tickets for both shows on the same day. After trying 20 different dates with no luck, I gave consecutive days a try and somehow found $40 tickets for October 10-11, 2018. The seats are last row balcony, right of center, but at least I'm in. Once these tickets came up, I did not look further for fear I would not find $40 tickets again if I released them. I'm from out of town so I'll need to find a hotel to stay overnight, but it will be worth it. For those who didn't get tickets this time, better luck next time when next block of tickets are released.

Well aren’t you lovely. I’ve never scalped a ticket in my life, but if I had a $200 ticket and someone offered me $5000 for it, I’d sell it in a second.

People respond to these market forces differently. I see tickets going for those insane prices and it makes me feel a lot better about how much I paid for mine. I'll be sitting with the kid and enjoying every second of being in a 5K (or whatever crazy price they sell for eventually) seat.
I do find it hard to judge folks who've never bought tickets intending to sell them who see what they're going for and prefer a few months rent over going in the first wave. I've been a starving student living on the edge. The amount of stress that much money could have relieved alone... I get it.

It's probably not even close. For one thing, it's clear that they haven't put up for sale all available seats. They're clearly holding back the better seats. No doubt they'll only release them shortly before the performance dates in order to maximize the premium prices. Second, 320 seats per week are being held for the Friday 40, in what would be prime locations (or technically 160, if you count both parts as one performance). Third, Hello, Dolly is selling a significant number of seats for $500-700. None of the Cursed Child tickets have been priced that high.
Alright, weirdest thing just happened. I tried to book for like a 100 times and it kept giving me the 'something went wrong' page. Then suddenly it started saying 'this code has already been used for a purchase' but no email confirmation and nothing in my TM account. But this morning suddenly the tickets showed up in my account! Guess I have them now?!! Wow, should I try not to be too happy till I get a real confirmation email? Or do you guys think I'm safe? For everyone else with the same situation; check your tm account now! Maybe you've got the same thing.

I immediately checked my card accout to see if I had been charged. Usually my charges go right through. Mine was pending all day but the purchase did hit my account right after I bought my tickets. That is how I made sure my purchase went through.

I’ve never sought out to sell either. I’ve had some pretty in demand tickets but never sold. I had some OBC Hamilton tickets that were going on stubhub for over $2k each, but I went to the show. But like you said, when you can pay rent or pay for a whole vacation cause some crazy person wants to pay you a ridiculous amount for a ticket, it is tempting

Sometimes, when I've been unemployed, I would buy three tickets to shows, and then sell the extra pair for the price of the three tickets. But you can't do that unless the event is happening pretty soon, or selling at that price is still cheap enough to flip them fast. It has to be something you know will sell before the next credit card statement.
Sometimes, it sells for less than the total cost, but then you still got in cheaper, if not for free...

Thank you for the heads up. This happened to me, and now I have too many tickets! When we used my code, my cart expired, I got no confirmation, and it wouldn't let me use my code again. I assumed there was an error in the system. So my friend tried using her code for us, and the same thing happened. We thought we ended up with no tickets. This morning, we each have a pair on our account, and pending charges in our credit cards. But we only needed one pair! LOL. I'll have to reach out to TM about a refund and see if they can help. I just wish I knew about the theater configuration before. One pair is DRESSR, Row A, 10-12, and the other is DRESSR, Row G, 2-4. I prefer an aisle seat, but Row A is tempting for the best view...
I'm usually not so upset when I can't get tickets to something, but this process has left my really salty.

In have a question for someone to answer. Without a physical/email ticket how can one even resell on StubHub etc.? TM states that we can either pick up ticket at BO with ID and credit card OR a virtual ticket is sent to your phone a few days prior to the performance. I don't understand how with these restrictions any tickets get to be resold to strangers. Please enlighten me
I got tickets and the process left me salty. It was unnecessarily stressful and glitchy. If the kid wasn't so desperate to go, I'd have bailed out entirely and tried for the Friday 40 until the insanity dies down.
I do think it would have helped had they been a bit more transparent. It seemed like prices were changing dynamically as people ordered, and they weren't clear on that the way Major League Baseball is with their dynamic pricing. They obviously held back a lot of good seats. There's little idea when additional releases will be or what dates/price points will be offered. People on standby had no idea where they were in the queue so they had to be constantly ready. One standby code a friend got came literally minutes before they closed down sales, and she never got to finish her transaction even though she hopped on it instantly.
Ticketmaster also just plain stinks at these things. I'm not sure why they can't upgrade their severs to handle the load when they have control of how many people are let in when and know it's coming. Every company that makes a Superbowl ad manages to shore up their servers in time. Why can't they? They also clearly don't do nearly enough testing of their systems because every single sale like this there are crazy errors and glitches. I got emails instead of a text messages for some reason unrelated to my phone as it works fine and they had the right number. The previews issue that was well documented. The early price point choice not being there except for handicapped access. These are solvable problems, and I'm not convinced they care to solve them. They're getting their fees no matter how much we hate the process or who does/doesn't get left in the cold.

You can sell a ticket on StubHub and indicate when you will be able to deliver the electronic ticket at a later date. Since they probably know the ticket delay window, they may already have it locked in for around that time.
kofler22 said: "TICKETS ARE ALREADY OVER U$S 3000 ON RESALE!!!!!"
What someone lists a ticket for doesn't have any bearing on its market value. One could easily list a ticket for $20,000, more important is what they are selling for on the resale market, which is often far different.
I got an 11 am time slot and jumped right on the page. I was looking for two tickets. I wasn't able to use the scroll menu to choose a price so just hit the $20/40 box and got a few responses of balcony seats. I heard the $20/40 seats were available in all levels off the theater so I tried a few more times and never got anything other than balcony. I tried higher price categories when I was finally able to use the pricing pull down menu but got a bunch of no availability messages. I was looking for a range of dates from April to July. I started seeing the bars on the calendar change to yellow and red so tried a few dates in the Fall. No luck. A few times I just choose standard pricing and there were always seats available at $199.
I finally noticed that the bars on the calendar dates for the preview period were green again (probably due to the glitch). I tried several dates for the cheapest seats but nothing. Then I tried looking for one ticket in the $20/40 category and they started popping up. A friend who will be going with me had sent me his code earlier so I tried for two single seats on my phone's TM app using his code and computer using my code. I got single seats up for the same date on the phone and computer so hit purchase within seconds. Got both seats and it was right at the end of my time slot. Both orders went through and I got email confirmations. But I could have saved my self a lot of stress and aggravation if I had just grabbed those balcony seats when they first appeared. This was by far the most difficult ticket buying experience I've ever had and that includes buying tickets to Hamilton, Hello Dolly, and HP in London.
So I never got a standby code, and I see the site says tickets have all been sold. Do we have any update when the next round of tickets and codes will be released? I had some bad luck this time around
