Hilary Duff and Molly Bernard Rave After Seeing Lea Michele in 'Funny Girl' : 'It Was Made for You'
"Lea, what a treat to see you in this role!" Hilary Duff wrote on Instagram after she and her Younger costar Molly Bernard took in a performance of the Funny Girl revival on Broadway
CarlosAlberto said: "This production has to be hands down Broadway’s biggest success story post COVID."
The Music Man was a bigger hit, and didn't waste several months on a subpar version that needed to be retooled to turn it into a hit. That has to be considered more of a success.

I think CarlosAlberto was talking about the "story" of which the one final number under the bottom line is only a part.
Music Man success recipe:
1. Find enough money to rent a large theater and hire two guaranteed box office magnets
Saw Lea on Saturday night, astonishing!! She was magnificent , one of the best performances I have seen in 40 years of seeing musicals and I have seen all the best! I now count her in the same category as the best .. all I can say is Barbra who lol !! Amazing

Astonishing she is - The must see performance on Broadway not to be missed!
Also, she dresses impeccably fashionable all the time!
Noticed a change on the FG website. It now says, "We are currently on sale through May 28th, 2023 and expect future dates to be released/announced later in February!" So, it would seem the show won't be closing in May, as has been speculated. Also, Amber Ardolino announced that March 26 will be her final performance.
Selling a single ticket for Tuesday 2/14 at 7pm in the front mezzanine. More details posted in the Buy/Sell chat, but feel free to DM me with any questions!
I saw Lea Michele yesterday when I saw a seatgeek ticket at $99. Omg. Believe the hype. I saw this in June with Julie Benko and while she was lovely, I left thinking Funny Girl was irredeemable as a musical because of the extremely weak book.
Lea Michele made the book ALMOST tolerable. She exudes such strength and determination that even her slavish devotion to Nick seems more like a blip in the road. The curtain comes down and you just know Fanny will be alright.
Michele's voice is amazing. Omg. It's like she was born to sing this score. Her acting was also very on point. I genuinely laughed many times.
Also, Tovah is such a step up over Jane Lynch. For one, she's a believable Jewish mama. Better at the comedy.

The whole show just has this wonderful energy."
Glad you got to see it with Lea and yes, she is a very special talent and kills it as Fanny and sings the hell out of it! Lea is Fanny Brice and the whole experience seeing FG with her is far more entertaining than with the others and yes Tovah is a gem and adds a whole other dimension as Mrs.Brice she's adorable and shines in the role. I tell everyone it's the must see show on Broadway!
"Anything you do, let it it come from you--then it will be new."
Sunday in the Park with George
Saw her last night. She is astounding in the role. I saw a preview with Beanie and it’s a completely different show. The rest of the cast and show seems to be having a much better time than when I saw it.
As for Michele, I’d heard so much that my expectations were incredibly high, and she exceeded all of them. The voice is incredible but her acting and comedic timing surprised me. This is a must see performance, and if I’m back in NYC while she’s still in it, I’ll go back. One of the best individual performances I can remember. If you’re able, just go.
She is even better now than at the beginning of her run. And she was already brilliant in it. Question.. As much money as this is making; Could it be possible the cast album ends up being the big money maker here?

Pure speculation, imagination, & fantasy...
But say Ramin leaves for LND, but Lea extends through to Labour Day... what if Jonathan Groff were to step in for the summer as Arnstein before going on to Merrily? Would that be too crazy?
I'll give Ramin credit for pulling some well-deserved attention back to himself after the focus being on Beanie and Lea all these months. It's only recently that he's been included in the marketing. Guess they figured he has a fan base, too.The man is amazing. Would love to see him back in a vehicle that does justice to his voice. Charming as he is in FG, his talents just aren't being utilized fully.
Doubt it will be LND - his references are to Phantom (the only mask indentified in the first video was from RAH25). Could be the Italy/Greece production there has been talk about. Still think he might do a Monday show, just to have it on his resume.

I hadn’t followed anything on Broadway until very recently and had never even heard of Ramin. When I compare his voice on FG bootlegs with live YouTube performances from some years ago, it seems to me his voice has somewhat deteriorated. The top and the sheen are pretty much gone.
I've always found Ramin merely serviceable in FG, even with Lea, although I think he fared better in the beginning, when the rest of the show was a wreck. He's a totally dependable actor, with a very nice voice, but I haven't seen a real spark in his performance in any of the 3 times I saw him. His line readings have been identical every time, which feels to me like he's just going through the motions on a job, and I've never seen what I'd describe as "joy" in his performance, which is probably akin to the Porkalob 75%.
