Well, the production’s disappeared from the TKTS board for the first time since May. I know because I’ve used the app daily. And Into the Woods - a hit by most definitions - remains up for tonight and tomorrow’s matinee. So while it is premature to draw long term conclusions, the casting certainly points to improved box office. The goal all along.

Well, of course it’ll be seeing improved box office. It had middling to poor word of mouth and reviews, but the whole cast change saga suddenly made it the most talked about production since Broadway reopened. They couldn’t have devised better publicity if they tried.

Having a competent leading lady will certainly help matters, but I stand by the fact that this production misdirected and is unbelievably cheap and chintzy from a design standpoint. The new marketing looks much better, though.
