Ugh, as if we needed another kick in the shins before the end of 2024.
I was just remarking the other day about how ageless and full of life she seemed –– always posting about her adventures on Insta and constantly working.
A remarkable performer who elevated whatever production she happened to be in, whether on stage or screen. I remember seeing her in the Diary of Anne Frank when I was in high school and thinking she stole the show. Loved her cameo in The Sopranos, and enjoyed watching her turn Our Mothers Brief Affair into something worth watching. (Still bummed I missed her in The Lyons, and in Other Desert Cities).
Worth remembering the great work she did for decades in the local NC theater scene too.
I grew up watching her on Alice and then had the great fortune of seeing her a few times on Broadway. She was astonishing in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. Her timing was impeccable! RIP
LInda Lavin at the 1987 Tony Awards: What a night! She performed a scene from Neil Simon's ''Broadway Bound'' with Jonathan Silverman; won her Tony Award, and led the telecast's starry closing singalong ...
Oh this does suck. I was just commenting that I hope her character gets more air time for a second season of No Good Deed on Netflix where she’s the perfect nosy neighbor. I will miss her and I always adored her deadpan. RIP Linda.
I know I saw her in something, for the life of me, no idea what. Wasn’t Broadway, maybe LA. RIP
Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist.
Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino.
This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more.

She was playing Nathan Lane’s mother, it probably wouldn’t be THAT much of a stretch for her to die unexpectedly in the series and for the series to address it that way. But that means rewriting and/or introducing a new 4th character into the equation.
But also depends on how much of the show they had filmed, how big her role is, etc.

It’ll continue. It’s a Hulu sitcom so they’re still filming episodes as they all have to drop all at once, hence why no premiere date has been announced yet. They now can write into the series her character’s passing as well. Having attended 2 tapings/filmings, her role was a featured role not a principal one so the overall storylines of the series won’t be affected, just her iconic TV presence will be missed.
One of the funniest episodes of television she was in was when she guest starred on the 7 th episode of RHODA in October 1974. She played Rhoda’s nemesis from high school, Linda Monroe, mistakenly invited to Rhoda’s bridal shower. She was hilarious in those 30 minutes, playing a wealthy Manhattan socialite who insulted everyone at the shower. Supposedly,CBS liked her so much they wanted to bring her on as a semi- regular but the plans fell apart. Rumor had it that star Valerie Harper feared Lavin would take away the spotlight from her on her own show. CBS then gave Lavin her own show two years later.

Per the Deadline obit, they have finished shooting 7 of the 10 episodes, and were coming back in January to finish the remaining 3. Lavin was the "Sophia" character. It was set to start streaming on Hulu in March/April.

Hulu typically does a hybrid dump/weekly rollout, with 1-2 episodes to start, and then weekly. But I can imagine they'd postpone premiering while they regroup, similar to Leslie Jordan's death with Call Me Kat.

Director James Burrows clearly stated the entire season will be available to binge in full hence why they still have no premiere date confirmed. He’s directing the entire series as he did with WILL & GRACE.

What do those two things have to do with each other?
