The current Sophie on tour is Amy Weaver. Not sure when Alisa Melendez left.

I am overly excited about this - I don’t care if everyone else thinks it’s a trashy musical. It’s my favorite anti-depressant! lol. Truly always had such a fun time at this show and happy to see it back on Broadway this summer!
Would love to see Lisa Brescia, Judy McLane or Carolee Carmello reprise their role as Donna for old time sake if they’re going to cast someone other than the current touring cast but would also love to see SJB in the role (as others mentioned)!
Is it completely bonkers to dream of Sherie Rene Scott playing Donna?
I have never seen this show (or movie) and never intend to. That said, if Sherie were on board…in a New York minute.
I don't know when it happened, but the film has become quite beloved by the digital generation. it's one of the highest rated modern musical movies on Letterboxd - behind only Chicago (and maybe Wicked?) I believe.

It's always been very popular, prior to Wicked it was the highest grossing stage musical adaptation of all time.

Got an email from Telecharge for a presale for the Winter Garden engagement. Code is DYNAMO.

I only looked at tickets for the presale because a friend of mine is coming to town in August and she’s dying to see this. The cheapest ticket for a Friday night? $125! For Mamma freaking Mia! In the last row of the mezz!
I know the price will come down and there will be discounts blah blah blah. But what are they thinking?? I’m almost more offended by that than Othello charging $900 for top price.

Saw this in Nashville and I can’t remember an ensemble that had that much energy. Damn. Sometimes I think national tours come across as a little phoned in, but everyone was blaring. I didn’t love all the casting choices, but my my my. It was such fun and I loved how happy the entire cast and audience was. Christine Sherrill has cheekbones for days and a great belt. Her head voice was okay but as previously mentioned, her “Winner Takes It All” was something to behold. Carly Sakolove has played Rosie in many iterations, so the role was second nature. My favorite performance was Jalynn Steele who injected Tanya with such verve and vitality - her “Does Your Mother Know” was a showstopper and she does it all IN WEDGE HEELS. I hope they let the tour cast be the Broadway cast because they deserve showing this joy on the great white/bright way.

NEVER underestimate the power of ABBA.
I'm seeing this on Wednesday and literally know nothing about this. (yes, shun me for being young and mostly listening to punk rock and Dave Malloy shows) All I know is that my friends said seeing this hammered would be the best way to see this and to expect nothing but a good time. What do I expect?

Exactly what you said - nothing but a good time, set to ABBA music. Very accessible musical as in - not deep, not complicated, not high-brow. Fun, easy entertainment.
I saw this like. 9 hours ago and it was one of the funnest things I’ve ever seen in the theatre. The sheer amount of joy I felt in that room is one I haven’t felt in years, my fave still hurts from smiling.
The funny thing is my girlfriend dumped me after I got home from the show, but the sheer amount of joy and positivity I felt from mamma mia is making me not give a single ****. That’s how powerful this show is in how fun it is. So **** you Lola, Mamma Mia for the win.

Enjoy yourself, have the time of your life, but do not sing along until the encore.
