Tituss Burgess is a great Zidler. He brings many comical elements to the character that had the entire audience laughing. His voice is higher and smoother, in contrast to Eric Anderson, who had a lower and rougher voice. So, it was fun for me to notice that difference. However, Chandelier seemed to be a bit too low for him. I felt like he was somewhat uncertain about whether to sing higher or to attempt to reach the lower notes. But, I know he is a very talented performer, and I trust that he will find a way to deliver that part much better. Also, in this performance, he was slightly off with the stage effects such as lighting and sound effects. Yet, I understand that it was only his second day performing, and he will definitely improve with more performances.
On ''The Broadway Show,'' Casey Cott tells of his joy making his Broadway debut and working with Courtney Reed, plus the ''great'' support he's gotten from Aaron Tveit and Derek Klena. Cott also recalls how his mother roped him into doing his high-school production of ''Oklahoma!,'' in which his older brother, Corey, arrived onstage on a real horse!
I want to go see Tituss but I’ve been seeing lots of tweets lately that Patrick Clanton has been going on for Zidler (at least 2x a week) so I’m hesitant

I can only find two tweets about Clanton going on (10/13 and 10/21 matinee) and it looks like Dylan Paul was on for the 10/21 evening.
Going to give Tituss the benefit of the doubt on this one before the boards crucify him for his attendance record: The man is doing eight shows a week for the first time in 14 years. Three call outs in two weeks isn't a great look, especially when he's the selling point for the show, but he's singing to the high heavens in a show that historically boasts some really spotty principal attendance during cold and flu season.
Spend your money cautiously, sure, but let's not characterize it as an attendance issue supported by "lots of tweets."
IHeartRadio chats with Tituss Burgess about making his return to Broadway (after 14 years), working with Casey Cott and Courtney Reed, and singing ''Chandelier.''
If anyone is seeing the tour in. Buffalo or anywhere else soon, please report back with the changes made. They’ve been reteching the show this past week, besides a few costume changes and the omission of the windmill/elephant pieces I’m curious what else might be cut.

I follow the Instagram that posts the understudies that go on every night. It's been looking like Titus has been in 3-4 shows a week, so we will see how it goes. I know the first week he did the Tuesday show, then wasn't on again until Saturday

I'm going to cop it due to illness, as almost everyone I know has some sort of sinus infection the last few weeks, including myself. But the role really isn't "singing to the high heavens" that it would necessarily already be dropping out due the vocal demands.
That said, I'm returning to the show for the first time in a while tomorrow night to see the almost all-new cast, really hoping to see him there.

I wish the time for discussing the next Christian comes. Casey is amazing in acting, but his singing is so weak. Can't hear him whenever he is singing with Satine or the ensemble. Can only hear him when he is in solo parts.
Casey is…not good. His acting is passable, but his singing is nowhere even near the basic par it needs to be to be successful in this role. He has all the comportment of a high school jock self-consciously faking his way through a musical - I could see him mentally preparing whenever a higher note was coming up. The worst part was his duets with Courtney, because you could hear her having to lower her power to match his and it was detrimental - though she shined vocally (not so much the acting, but again, probably going to blame Casey for being a bad scene partner).
Tituss is less menacing than his predecessors and more cheeky - he had his moments to shine (especially Chandelier), but I think he had quite a few mics issues today because it was hard to hear him at times and that is not a man who has a low setting on his volume button. Also, David Harris is DADDY - I have never rooted for a Duke in my life

I saw the tour 3x in Buffalo over the past 2 weeks- I hadn't seen the tour prior to this, but had seen the show on Broadway several times. I didn't notice any major differences from what I knew of the tour- Christian has gotten rid of the silver coat for bows and just wears the leather Roxanne coat and Satine is back in her Shut up and raise your glass dress for bows now.
I can't see him being able to do 8 shows/week. They should just hire a standby for the role at this point.
