I was watching the documentary about Paul Reuben’s on HBO (it is so good!) and I couldn’t help but think, if he were still around he would be a contender for Mary Todd Lincoln replacements for sure.

God, this would be sooooooo good."
If it is Jinkx Pirates closes on 7/27 and Oh, Mary! new Mary starts on 8/4 Do you think she goes right into the show one week after ending in Pirates. That would be a very fast turnaround. Not saying its impossible but would be very impressive.
They could have Hannah do a week of performances if Jinkx needs the rehearsal time.

To be honest that’s about the regular rehearsal time it seems for a replacement for this show, so def not unheard of, and she could rehearse during the day.

Paul was 70 when he passed away in 2023 so he’d be 72. No way in hell would he have the stamina to play Mary. Love how no one uses common sense logistics even with dream casting. Oy.

He’s also dead, so by default this wasn’t a serious suggestion. Brody you suck the energy out of rooms when you enter, don’t you?

Brody almost certainly suffers from a Cluster B personality disorder.

Watch the doc episodes, if you haven't, and putting all real world logistics aside, tell me he would not be a phenomenal Mary Todd Lincoln. He has that same sort of "demonic sparkle" in his eyes where you just know he's got something planned. He can disarm you with a smirk. You can't trust him, and as I'm re-reading the "Oh, Mary!" script, it's all things Paul Reubens was. And clearly the timing isn't right for it to happen, but if we were 30 years ago and this text was still around, I cannot fathom that he would not have been considered.
Now, knock it off with the attitude "Love how no one uses common sense logistics with dream casting. Oy." was so unnecessary, and if you didn't intend for it to come off as a pompous, it certainly read that way.
Stop squabbling the conversation, lighten up, learn how to yes and.
I'm going to remind you, we are not ACTUALLY casting directors in a room making real world decisions. I'm a 40 year old who is typing this while I should be working, but your unnecessary attitude put me in a bad vibe, and I'm mad I let you get to me in that way.

i believe Estelle Parsons was 82 when i saw her in August: Osage County, and she was fantastic and didn't require lifeaway mobility to go up and down the staircases, so perhaps you ought to grab a snack and a nap and quit dumping on everyone's fun.

Saw this again last week and loved it again. My wife, who can occasionally be prudish, loved it again. It was so clever and Cole was so perfect.
I still do not think this should win the Tony as best play this season. I would vote for either Hills of California or John Proctor, which I thought were more substantial / powerful, and I was unable to see Purpose or English.
I still think this was a brilliant extended skit and that it deserves all of its success now and for years to come.
This may end up being unrelated, but Jinkx is appearing on Jenna & Friends tomorrow with a surprise announcement. Monsoon season at the Lyceum?
There's been some rumors to that effect, and I for one hope they're true.

So, it had been rumored here a few weeks ago that ''Oh, Mary!'' might be getting a pro-shot this week with the original cast before Cole Escola leaves on Saturday (6/21). Any update? And will Conrad Ricamora and James Scully also be leaving on Saturday? Thanks for any info!
if jinkx joins as mary i’m buying tickets immediately

They're staying through Tituss's run. There should be info tomorrow regarding casting and another extension.
I haven't heard anything about the proshot aside from the initial rumors surrounding this week's performances.
I asked him on Monday and Conrad is staying through Tituss’ run. They have a put-in together on Thursday.

Looks like the Thursday matinees get eliminated come September. They'll have two shows on Sundays instead.
