Any guesses how C Levy got out of her Lost Boys contract?

Just bought a ticket for May 8, really think this could be the next winner of the Tony.
My guess is probably that some kind of clause was in place in the event of a Ragtime extension. The two announcements aligning on the same day implies the productions and her manager/agent were in conversation about her employment in some way.

When does the sunday change go into effect? December or January?"
January 18. It must have been part of his negotiation with the extension.

This is a business of humans, and sometimes producers and creatives are indeed sympathetic to one another’s wishes.
If the role has changed throughout workshops, there could be a legal way out.
She might not actually have had a LOST BOYS contract at the time of RAGTIME opening. Sometimes there’s just a deal memo or a series of agreed-upon things in emails, and a paper contract comes later. Strange as that may sound.
If she were a meaningful box office star or a performer who got raves in a prior run of the show Off-Bway or regionally, it would be a bigger loss for Lost Boys. But how big is this role?

Caught this tonight. What a marvelous performance marred by terrible sound design. Henry and Cassie stew the scenes, of course, but the entire cast is so, so good.
That said: Multiple mics off issues tonight so you couldn’t hear the vocals, and then some muddled vocal from the ensemble, etc. Worst sound design I’ve heard since Sweeney Todd.
Earlier today, I accomplished a personal goal of mine. I had always wanted to see a show at Lincoln Center Theater. What better way to start than with “the music of something beginning.”
I first saw Ragtime in August of 2008 as an usher for a local production at the Players Guild Theatre in Canton, Ohio. Prior to that, I had heard of the musical from researching Tony Awards history when I was just getting into Broadway. When the Guild announced they were presenting it, I did a little more digging into the show. Mainly from hearing a few of the songs to watching PBS’ 1998 documentary about the creation of the whole thing. At just 14 years old, I was blown away by the entire production from the cast to the staging to the material. Easily one of the best shows I ever saw from a community theatre.
Having seen a ton of shows on Broadway over the years, Lincoln Center Theater’s current revival of Ragtime is one of the very best! I sat in the third row, which was a pretty great view. Especially when it comes to seeing such a grade A cast performing up close. Caissie Levy, Joshua Henry, Brandon Uranowitz, Colin Donnell, Ben Levi Ross, and Nichelle Lewis each give incredible performances. Although director Lear DeBessonet also does such wondrous things with her staging.
I'm very happy that the run has been extended because everyone needs to see this phenomenal show. I especially hope this gets Levy her very first Tony nomination and Henry his first win.

What’s a better seat for Ragtime, far side of the orchestra (Row G or H) or back of the Loge (Row E) but more central?

I was in row C of the center loge for Ragtime and had a terrific view. That said, I've sat in the side orchestra for LincTix at previous shows and never had any issues..
I don't think an open Broadway run would be financially smart, but when I returned to Bat Boy it was much fuller than looking at tickets would have suggested a week before. I think it's an uphill battle in any commercial venue right now, but it kind of screams New World Stages in vibes.

BAT BOY in the St. James? Sure -- right after the incoming all-star revival of MOOSE MURDERS finishes its 5-year run!

A Bat Boy transfer would be so ill-advised. Hopefully they can scrounge together the cash for a cast recording and call it a day.
Let's be honest here, a BAT BOY transfer wouldn't even fill up the Daryl Roth.

Apologies if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread, but I was just in my LCT member account and noticed we can now purchase another member ticket for performances beginning January 6.
$97.75 with fees was what I paid for center orchestra.
I had to call and get an agent to process my purchase as I kept getting an error message after selecting a seat and proceeding to checkout, but that may have just been something with my account.

At the performance tonight and there has been a strange technical stop in Scene 5 Coalhouse number. It’s been more than 15min now and we have no idea what’s going on. Hope everyone and everything is alright! So far it’s fantastic!
Saw it at City Center and went back today. Levy definitely has really improved as Mother. Her vocals still feel a little too modern for me, but I really thought her performance was much more developed.
The sets and costumes kind of didn’t feel much different to me than what we had at CC. Nothing on that stage today, set wise, added to my enjoyment. Instead of moving ladders, we now have moving ladders that are decorated to look more turn of the century. Okay. Maybe the only thing that felt different was Atlantic City.
Understudy for Sarah was on and she was good. Uranowitz still kills me at Tateh in the best way possible, and while his performance is, I think, my favorite overall, Henry’s vocals still impress.
I do believe I was actually sitting too close to take it all in, and that got in the way of my connection to it. Don’t normally feel that way, but I wish I was a bit further back for this one. Packed house. Glad the show is finally finding some financial “Success!”

The Tony voter I saw a show with the other day was telling me how she’s never been impressed with Levy. And that was even before I mentioned my distaste for her. Caissie is not Tony caliber. She’s not enough. She’ll never be nominated for a Tony.

its funny bc this deeply unwell person keeps making up new profiles but then cant resist making the same deeply unwell comments/observations almost immediately. i think the invention of a "tony voter i saw shows with" is new though.

It isn’t. I dont lie, no reason to. She had an extra ticket to godot matinee and Versailles. Couldn’t go to godot cause I was working but took her up on Versailles. We both liked the show and don’t like caissie levy.

Mind-boggling.

This sounds like something out of Scott Feinberg's brutally honest Oscar ballots. One may not always agree with what the voter says, but they're always fun to read.
