THIS is the FUNNY GIRL revival the world wants (and needs):

Streisand as Mrs. Brice

Lady Gaga as Fanny Brice

Streisand hates the 8 performances a week schedule but the show could have shortened performance schedule to let both ladies rest.  Harvey Fierstein can expand the role of Mrs. Brice and some Jule Styne or Bob Merrill trunk songs could be rehashed for the character.  Heck, Steven Spielberg could make his Broadway directorial debut with this.  This will blow away to shreads the Midler HELLO, DOLLY! revival.

Gaga is like Eve Harrington, except she skipped the Broadway part.  I don't expect her to trod the boards any time soon.  But the perennial candidate, Rosie, shall bless us with her presence for years to come.

And like "Summer: The Donna Summer Musical", Streisand will make sure it's an all-female cast, with Rosie playing Nicky Arnstein and Meryl Streep playing Florenz Ziegfeld.
